Teddy should have let Guram there without intimidation but why was Guram a sore loser, he could have one a medal instead got kicked out like a brat child . Teddy is the legend of this game and Guram should have done his homework about his opponent. Teddy is the sheer definition of Judo and even the Japanese players know this for almost 10 yrs now . Teddy huge and yet extremely talented individual with a force that no one can underestimate.

You notice that people who get upset about something like this actually have no idea about judo and are simply fans of success. If you have been following judo for a long time, you would know that the two are absolute rivals and that this is typical of Guram Tusishvili

I think that the conflict occurred due to the fact that the winner wanted to walk on top of the defeated Guram Tusheshvili, (walking over him with his legs spread wide apart), that is, to make a certain gesture of victory over the loser, Guram found this offensive and did not allow this, grabbing him by both legs and knocking Teddy down

Riner provoked Tushishvili with a childish celebration

It obviously was provocation from Teddy's side, well yes would be better if Georgian would remain patient but fair deal would be either disqualification for both or none of them

I absolutely understand emotions from Teddy's (it's was his final olympics) and Guram's (he won Teddy last year in Georgia) sides, but the fact is that Teddy started first and provoked Guram.

The provocations came from BOTH Fighters. Riner behaves very arrogant in last move and that irritates Tushishvili and makes him angry. As you can see on the video, Riner even holds him briefly by the leg as Tushishvili turns away. Of course, the loser's behavior is completely not acceptable, but Riner deserves to be punished also for his action.

All the angry Georgians should be angry with Guram, because of his roid rage your team will miss one member with the mixed team judo tomorrow!

I watched from different angle and he put his hand on Guram's throat and smiled, like a freak, isn't it disrespectful?

Why you all said that the French provoked first?

To those who claim Teddy has put his fist to his neck because he waited for ippon, if you paid more attention you would have seen that Ippon was already declared. Even if it wasn't, fists to the neck and sticking one's tongue out is simply a bad etiquette and it has no place in this sport, and it's clear as a day that Teddy played with him a bit in order to humiliate him.
I don't justify Georgian's reaction, ideally he should have been better person than him, accept the defeat(which was fair and square), and if he really has a need have a little chat with him about his behaviour after the match, but i can understand his anger.
I hope both of them will learn from this. Although Teddy didn't receive any punishment for the bad etiquette, I hope he now realizes that being a jerk does not always pay, he was quite close to receive some real life beating when angry Georgian decided to cast the rules of the mat aside .
