What happens if the yellow outer sheathing on a romex (not the inner wires) gets a little tear? Can I just put tape over it?

liquid electric tape works for me. I also seal butt connectors in wet conditions with it.

Thank you for sharing. Is there any rust products that are safe if in contact with automotive wiring? Particularly the outer coatings…My f150 had water leaks and the water fills both sides of the wire loom channels under the door sills. The wires rest on top of the rusted areas that need remedying. Thank you for any feedback.

first you used high voltage sure its going to leak out.. these wires are for 12 volts 500 mah at most for computers etc... no vehicle uses high voltage lke that... so you dont need to seal them up
