MIG-29 High Altitude Flight - An Ode to the Sun.

A GoPro camera mounted on the tail of MIG-29 shows in flight direction, starting footage shortly before crossing the sound barrier visualised a spectacular view of one of our customised flights.

The GoPro is mounted in a special container what still is under pressure and filled with a gas so that the lens can't be fogged up.

The container is an invention of Russian former jet pilot Artur Sarkisyan who also equipped the Russian aerobatic team "White Knights" for filming their flight performances.

The flights with the MIG-29 stopped in September 2017.

Sitting in the backseat of the MIG-29 gives our customers chills!

Unil April they only could imagine how the flight would look from outside. Now we are able to install on customer demands a special camera system of 6 cams total.

This is the cam directed to the front in flight direction. During this flight you see a spectacular view of the sun what is described as a "HALO effect". A ring is visible around the sun. This effect is coming from ice-crystals in the atmosphere.

Incredible footage but it could have been better if the MIG jet went even higher (about ft), spent a longer time at very high altitude, and did its manoeuvres at that very high altitude.
