Another great vid, grew up in NZ in a region known as Taranaki, the entire region surrounds a Dormant Volcano
Mt Taranaki
So cheers for always sharing some of our country’s great history

A very poetic episode. Only thing I would've added is, when you were talking about Taupo, to have alluded to your other videos on the Oruanui eruptions, and included a link to them.

I want to add some things

1. The submerged part of Zealandia is actually all that remains of Middle Earth
2. The history of New Zealand also includes the tale(s) of Arda
3. New Zealand cannot exist on a world map

A good video. Informative and relatively short.

One day we shall rise again! And still have a lack of houses, infrastructure, and roads. She'll be 👍 😞🇳🇿🙃

You're not fooling anyone, that's clearly Middle Earth

Do the deep rocks that underlay New Zealand have the... continental buoyancy (for lack of a better layman's word) that if the plate collision decreases in intensity, will NZ's weighty mountains sink it beneath the waves like the rest of Zealandia?

So will the submerged Zoolandia emerge in the future as an 8th Continent???

My understanding is that NZ is on its own micro plate?

I'm trying to understand the history of the land bridge between mainland Australia and Tasmania. I'd love to see it from your educated perspective. $0.02

This would be improved by a NZ narrator.

Always making really great vids. Hopefully one day, you'll study a little Planetary Collision Dynamics instead of just repeating accepted theories. Impact ejecta would also leave this kind of evidence. Nature has more than one way to dramatically alter the Earth.

Friendly reminder, majority of Geologists and Geophysicists do not study impact-phase comets, such as comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 event. Most astrophysicists do not study Earth's geological anomalies. How would either offer impact theories for Earth's geomorphological anomalies?

Impact-phase comets atomize H/O/C/N/Heavy-Metals/rock/dust/etc., and can slam into the earth at hyper-velocities > 42K kmh.
Impact temps are hotter than surface of the Sun. Crust will crack, large swaths will vaporize, portions will melt, other chunks ejected and event mirrors volcanic evidence. Comets, Mother Nature's reset/erase button.

Comets are not simply just dirty-snowballs, they are space-mountains of solid rocket fuel + metals, rock & dust.
Physics is not a belief system.

This is completely inaccurate. New zealand and australia are actually still connected beneath the deep sedimentary layers of the sea bed. The entire country sints on top of a giant fossil which is also a part of australia. The moeraki boulders were identified by oblivious geologists who mistook them for concretions, when in fact they are fossils. The acetabulum and infundibulum which is found in cephalopods is evident in every image known of the moeraki and koutu boulders. What was described by poorly educated geologists was essentially simply the exact description of what is a fossil. Because they couldnt understand it they told people it started as a grain of sand and a nucleus formed around it and yet there is clear evidence that is not the case. Geology has this all wrong. The funny part is new zealand government and their ignorance dont realise the more you look for natural resources and fossil fuels the faster this boneless mush tentacle still wet and sedimentary is leeching out and it is literally collapsing under our feet. if you look at the topographical satellite imagery you can see that it is literally just flattening out.
