Index PnP Assembles Circuit Boards!

So awesome to have the Index actually do some useful work, populating ring lights for a batch of machines I'm assembling! I had confidence it would be able to do this based on previous validation tests, but to actually have it do the thing it's designed to do, full stack, feels incredible.

You can hack the toaster oven and create a reflow with the correct heating profile with a small controller, heat sensor, solid state relay

This looks very impressive. I have actually started to build one for small and mid scale manufacturing. At this moment I am printing 3D parts and I intend to order some other components tomorrow.

Thank you for everyone who have participated this wonderful project.

Looking good. When I have not had a stencil I have used a laser cutter with an overhead transparency... key is to lower the power to avoid getting rough melty edges.

Would just like to say that you always want to get the paste on in a single wipe, use a firm blade and have the paste so that it rolls/tumbles on the blade as you wipe over the PCB. Use good pressure and around a 60 degree blade angle.

I love the progress.
In a previous video you had feeders for the items and the PCB. This one didn't have them. Were the feeders designed for a previous PnP and don't work with this one, or did you just not use them?

No first iteration of a fixture has pockets for finger tips for part removal. Ever.

will there be a solder pate extruder on the pnp?

Why didn't use your feeder? And did the open PNP can dispense solder paste?
I really love your videos an especially your reaction when something worked 😁

Thanks for your hard work Steven, I think I might finally build one myself :)

Perfect 🙏🏻 Did you gave up on the automatic solder dispenser syringe?

Nice video. But it reminds me to ask if there is already any progress in adding a solder paste dispener?
