Your stories of large families always hit home with me. I'm the oldest of six, and my mother is one of 13. My mom's siblings all have 4 or 5 kids, so if you go to this little town in Connecticut and yell their last name, 80% of people will turn around and 20% will point to one. The only time I saw my grandmother out of the kitchen was in church.

I can assure you, Jim, that your kids hear almost everything you tell them. I'm 64 with a 41 year old and that kid (adult now) is proof that I wasn't just talking to myself or the walls. You will be amazed when they actually have kids of their own because you will then start to see yourself in them. Those same words or stories you told them, they will use as they raise their own. Often I hear repeated to me a "remember when you told me" and I was sure glad I listened or I should have listened. More often than not you find out you did a decent, good, or excellent job raising them. Of course, there are those few kids that you just can't get through to, they are hopelessly lost.. Hopefully, that won't be the case with any of yours.

Dark Pale, aptly named. I'm not even a husband, and my biggest laugh was at the end where he says "I'm gonna kill her." Because you won't of course, but you stay with someone long enough... Of course, women with men have it much easier, as we are simply beacons of joy:)
