So I'm curious if anyone out there has a similar take on it. I didn't find myself being offended to the point of writing it off as a bad special, but I didn't find it funny either. One bit out've the hour got me to laugh but otherwise I just couldn't vibe with it. I feel like people calling it wildly offensive and the initial rotten tomatoes score helped the special out a lot because it made it more of a forbidden fruit/flag to fly in defiance of PC culture. I totally get that comedy is subjective and a lot of people might have just simply found the jokes funny and as someone who's in the beginning stages of writing jokes I respect anyone who can get on stage and connect with people.

I absolutely loved it! 👏👏 Watched it a second time, but with my girlfriend and she thought it was amazing.. She's Asian/Swedish and the part where he made fun of his asian wife definitely made her laugh the hardest 😏 So I guess if you want to be offended, you'll most likely find something that will.

I mean he makes a bunch of jokes about white people and I think those are just as hilarious 🤷‍♂️ As you said, you don't have to agree on everything he says, but a good joke is a good joke.. and even if I hated every joke he made, I'd never spend my whole afternoon trying to get someone "cancelled"

Austin you're not horrible you were spot on dude!!! Saw it. Loved it. I want comedians to have a backbone and keep it. That's their job dude make fun and lighten the mood! If we live in a world where a comedian cant even joke with out people comin for their head then I give up.

I am glad you reviewed this honestly, much respect. You and Jeremy Jahns are the only ones I have seen so far give a realistic take on the whole special. Dave Chappelle holds no prisoners. He goes for the head shot on EVERYONE. No one is safe from Daves jokes...and thats perfect.

I agree with this video so much! So glad you posted it! If you can’t laugh at yourself, then what are you even laughing at? People have to start laughing more and stop taking things( especially words) so serious. I enjoyed the special😁
