After much messing around, I managed to get Bluetooth working. Turns out the Microsoft Generic Driver was not allowing the Realtek driver to install. I fixed it by finding the Bluetooth driver and manually forcing the install in Device Manager. Not sure why it wasn't already installed on this mini. Anyway, I'll include the Bluetooth result (4m/13ft) in the next review.

i wish they'd screw a standard 120 fan and grille on top and skip the custom plastic cover.

- My favorite RGB mode, "off".. ❤

You're the best mini-PC reviewer, period! By the way, there already was at least one model from Minisforum with a big fan onboard. I don't know why manufacturers still put these shitty, noisy, turbine-like, and difficult-to-replace laptop fans instead of regular 12cm slims 🙈

So, Beelink SER8 is still the winner! Until Ryzen 9000 AI series minis come out...

Thanks for the review!

The 8845HS variants of this design are advertised with 2x M.2 2280 slots

We're all waiting to see how fast the GPUs on the next gen APUs will be

Still waiting for one with a 140mm case fan, and a metal heat sink design case. I may be waiting for a while though.

I really like the larger fan, and that it has a secondary one also. But unless this was a not-quite-production-ready unit that they sent out for review, quality control feels nonexistent with this unit. I don't remember the one marketed by Kamrui having this many issues. The creaky plastic reminds me of just how sturdy units from 2 years ago (like the 5560 from Beelink) were - plastic, but well done. Maybe the reviews will encourage a bit more effort...

I got the white/transparent 7735hs version with Firebat branding really cheap a while ago. I kept it on the Quiet power mode for the most part due to the near silent fan at first, but as it turns out framerates in games are usually better as well since the GPU gets to stretch it legs when the CPU is not allowed to boost like crazy

It still seems like a no brainer to make the things just big enough for at least a 120/140mm Noctua fan and have done with it. I'm not picking my mini-PC based on whether it's 1 litre or 2, or 3. Can I slap it under a monitor on my desk without it being too awkward?

What size powersupply is needed to reliably run this in balanced mode? 120? 150?

Did the Bluetooth work in Linux? Could it be just a missing driver in Win 11?

2:56 At this point you could have told us if BT is working out of the box in Ubuntu.

Good concept, flawed execution. Thanks for the review.

FFS, don't some of these companies test their mini PCs?

How can you release a PC with a power supply system below the requirements? Not even Dell or HP do that for their systems.

Otherwise, I see some good ideas here, but it's like it was designed by different people who never communicated with each other.

Shame as at least the looks are IMO very good.

As it is with the power supply issue, this is as good as garbage for the price. Sell it for 100.

Thanks for the review.

So many bad design choices...
Audio plug and USB-C on the front
Usb-C on the back limited to power only
Only 1 storage option
glued on feet
etc...

A previous aoostar you reviewed (g13?) has decent cooling too. About time. I had at least one beelink, a 7735, that did not do well with cooling

Could you buy a 120w power supply, and replace the one which came with pc?

2:07 Wrong, the 8840 doesn't add an AI engine, because the 7840 already has one.
