Top 3 Bands Roger Waters HATED the most

Roger Waters is known for his monumental contributions to Pink Floyd, but he’s also known for his strong opinion on politics, society, and music. Waters was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd and set the conceptual direction for the band from 1968 to 1985, when he departed to embark on a solo career. He guided the band creatively during the 1970s and experimented with a solo career afterwards. He launched his solo career with the album The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking (1984). While his contributions to rock music are undeniable, he is also not shy about expressing his dislikes. Here are 3 bands that Roger waters hated the most.

Love his music. Couldn't care less about his personal life or politics.

Rogers Waters is and always has been the genius of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour is the voice that was needed for this group.

Roger Waters would inspire conflict while in solitary confinement. Not a man at ease with himself and the world.

Let’s be brutally honest, Sex pistols were a publicly gimmick absolute rubbish band, U2 one of the most overrated bands of all time, Pink Floyd after Waters left became a very average band, to those who disagree, tough, but that’s my opinion.

The only band RW doesn't hate is whichever one he's currently in.
For some odd reason he thinks his opinion matters

Roger is the epitome of the missive "a broken clock is absolutely right 2 times a day".
As a songwriter, there are few as deep, dark, and pensive.
As an out of touch elitest by birth, he "grew" artistically and believed his own private cult of personality.
I'd like to believe that he just didn't care what anybody thought, but his persistent criticism of a Gilmoure led Floyd exemplified the absolute insecurity of "Pinky" in the movie The Wall. Rick Wright is another low point for Roger in the Twilight of "The Final Cut"...
I think John Lydon is a stand up Guy.

I used to like U2 but Bono turned into a self-righteous holy bore. I like the Pistols because they were so out there. John Lydon has turned into a bitter middle-aged man. He needs to lay off the bear claws too.

Roger Waters....one of the biggest creeps in rock music. A legend in his own mind.

U2 is very much over-rated, never liked any of there songs. Roger Waters is a good musician & song writer.

If I ever had a conversation with Waters, it may, or may not go well, but I am in complete agreement with him on U2 and the Sex Pistols. I also can understand his feelings on Pink Floyd going on without him.I never bought an album after he left.

Waters has principles and has always been willing to sacrifice his career for them. On the other hand, Bono is a corporate turd

The problem with Floyd is out of all the bands I loved as a teenager and young man, there the least re-listenable. Like after you play it out, where can you really go with Floyd as a fan? I sort of like the Syd stuff, but I'm not gonna throw on Piper at the Gates of Dawn anytime soon. Like right around Echoes is where I really like it, with it ending just before the Wall, which I consider the most overrated unlistenable album they have. It's just more impressive than it is good. So that's a good solid 6-7 years of Roger that I think is really brilliant. It's really not decades upon decades of brilliance. 71-77 was the only Floyd that really matters.

Nothing more embarrassing than artists whose careers started in the 60s hating on Punk/Sex Pistols. The SPs had no ambitions for musicianship, or virtuosity, the ambition was to excite a new generation, and to empower them with a DIY methodology. Waters, like many of his peers, focussed on the medium, not the message, exactly the thing they had been rebelling about fifteen years before.

Waters was only one part of 3 variations of Floyd in my opinion. The first was the period up to the WYWH album, then the RW period, where he had great influence on the 3 albums, Animals, The Wall and Final cut. The last of course with Gilmour. But the greatest strength in all of this time was Mason and Wright, Waters was a bit player. A great artist, but above his station.

I LIKE THE VERY EARLIEST LPS OF U2. I DON'T HATE BANDS BUT I LISTEN TO ONLY A FEW.

Many years ago, I paid $250 (a lot of money at the time) for a good seat, close to the stage to see RW. It was at that concert that I realized that David Gilmore was far and away the driving reason I have enjoyed Pink Floyd for so many years. Since that time I've come to learn more about Rodger. Unfortunately, I find him not only to be far less important to Pink Floyd than Gilmore but I also find RW to be a very disagreeable person and quite unlikeable.
