Lyrics:
Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb?
Mother, do you think they'll like this song?
Mother, do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Mother, should I build the wall?

Mother, should I run for president?
Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Is it just a waste of time?

Hush now, baby, baby, don't you cry
Mamma's gonna make all of your nightmares come true
Mamma's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mamma's gonna keep you right here, under her wing
She won't let you fly, but she might let you sing
Mamma's gonna keep baby cosy and warm
Ooh babe, ooh babe
Ooh babe
Of course, Mamma's gonna help build the wall

Mother, do you think she's good enough–for me?
Mother, do you think she's dangerous–to me?
Mother, will she tear your little boy apart?
Mother, will she break my heart?

Hush now, baby, baby, don't you cry
Mamma's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you
Mamma won't let anyone dirty get through
Mamma's gonna wait up until you get in
Mamma will always find out where you've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooh babe, ooh babe
Ooh babe
You'll always be baby to me

Mother, did it need to be so high?

Roger, if you and David could find some way of putting it all behind you both, and make just one video like this together, it would bring a flood of hope into a world that's sorely lacking it right now.

I was 12 when I listened to this masterpiece. It makes me cry now that I am almost 57. Great Rogers.

Roger Waters, you are a legend! Thank you for staying strong in your lifelong fight against war, the mass killings, including children, and against the world leaders who choose war.

Who really cares anymore? Waters is a legend. Gilmour is a legend. Roger has written and created some of the most moving pieces of work ever. David sings and plays the guitar like nobody else ever. They are all facts. Just enjoy it. Life's much better for it 😊

I’ve gone past caring about who did and said what, all I know that Roger, Dave, Rick and Nick made the world a better place bringing people together and filling their souls with the most beautiful music ever created. I’m so grateful I existed when you guys did, love you all and the world is in debt to you forever ❤️

Born in 1969, i have been listening to Roger since I was a very young boy, thanks to my Dad. I still remember when I first heard this age 10, I connected with the words without really understanding or knowing why. Now, in 2023, i understand! It hits like a train and brings tears to my eyes. Thank you, Roger and all! ❤

Over 40 years ago, skipped school with two friends. Smoked pot. One had a boombox and the new Floyd on cassette. Had to listen to it three times that day. Life's never been the

Played this song for my mom. Aged 60. She didn't care much for modern music. But this number went right to her soul. When ya sing from the heart
It goes straight to the soul.

The two backing singers absolutely nailed it, the tone, the harmony was just perfect. And Roger sounds as good as ever. This bought back memories and so may tears.

All I can say is how fortunate we are to experience such a legendary era of Pink floyd, and how sad for those who missed out on this

I’m 16 years old, a young french guitarist, a bit lost in his life, and this man and Pink Floyd in general are my only inspiration. Every day I want to be someone like Roger, such a talented writer, like David, such an amazing guitarist.
I hope that one day I could see him on stage after all this shit with the virus.
Keep rocking Roger, my friend.

Used to listen to this song and album on a Walkman up in the attic while smoking cigs, back when I was in high school. I was adopted so I always thought of my birthmom when this song came on and imagined singing it to her…we finally reunited when I was in my mid 30’s. Bitter sweet but we healed each other when we met and are still in touch! This song and album inspired me and helped me make it through my younger years! Roger is truly a brilliant writer and musician, thank you for your art and wisdom!!!

The Wall changed my life. I went out of the cinema totally upside down. The kind of conscience crises that decides you to make a u-turn in your existence.
