Wow, this was a super simple explanation compared to all the convoluted possibilities on the forums. Thanks so much!

I’ve asked a few car savvy people at work, and they had no idea. It usually happens on warm days after I’ve been driving awhile. This video is a god send. Thank you!

Have had this issue on my '13 Impreza for years. To avoid long cranking times I will turn on the ignition and wait for five seconds while the gauges do their sweep and then hit the starter. It will usually start right up. Try it.

The thing is your pointing at different things...
What does an old battery have to do with fuel injectors?

I just bought a Toyota Yaris 2021, when I was testing the car before driving, the issue never appeared because they didn't let the car sit for more than 10 minutes (that's when usually starts cranking a few seconds before starting), this is the first video that adresses the same problem that I'm having, gonna try it and I'll see if it get better. Battery is new, so it would be just about changing the spark plugs.

My 2014 outback does it every one or two other starts. Soo annoying. Thanks for letting me know. I will check this out at my upcoming oil change. I 🤔 thought was I hold the key turn too long or what.

My brand new 2023 Outback does this. It wasn't something I was expecting on a new car.

I was so focused on the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator, haven’t thought about the spark plugs and battery, easier fixes first thanks

We just had a new batter, new plugs, fuel system cleaned, new crank sensor and PCM update and STILL have a hard start issue when warm.

Have had two recent Subarus
Both seem to take "longer" to start than other vehicles. I think that is just a Subaru thing. Weak starters and lower CCA stock batteries
