Spark plugs: NGK PZFR5F-11 (4363) (Laser Platinum)

Hope you enjoy this video. This video took me about 2 hours to film, 1 hour to edit, and more than 3 hours to process this video on my Dell Inspiron 1545 using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 11.

As a fan of old-shCooL Hondas I’m So thankful to find video tutorials like this. I just obtained a garaged 2002 Accord EX-V6 with only 136K on it, to jazz up a bit and 1st thing I’m gonna do is put some fresh sparks in it 😃👍 Thanks

The thing with NGK plugs is that they are already self-lubricating and corrosion resistant. They have to be installed dry. Never put anti-seize on them. I used to only coat the washer but as of recently found no need to even do that. Change those plugs once in a while and they will never seize up and you get great gas mileage. Remember to check the gap!

Thanks man. I only had to replace 2, but this video helped out a lot, especially with the testing part. She runs perfectly now.

Great tutorial but I would recommend doing one spark plug at a time as opposed to three at once, etc. I start my car after each plug change to ensure there are no problems. If you were to change numerous plugs at the same time and then start the car to discover a misfire, then potentially you have to remove all of them (instead of one) to troubleshoot. It's a tad tedious to do it this way but worth it if there's a problem.

I don't understand why, after changing the plugs and it idled smooth on start up, would you unplug the coil packs? If it's smooth then all the connections were fine, unplugging those was more than likely throwing codes through your computer and the Service engine soon light on the dash, flashing like crazy (which you couldn't see happening). No reason to kill the spark to that cylinder.

I wouldn't recommend that to anyone looking for help with their spark plug change. Did a great job until that last 3 mins

its a 6mm allen/hex bolt on the coil packs, 7/32 is ~ 5.5mm and can damage the socket. Having one that goes on your ratchet makes it WAY easier especially in the back.

You can use the coil to take out the spark plug after loosening

Take the manifold cover off and put them somewhere safe.
*proceeds to throw them to the ground*

Great video though thank you!

It was helpful, but I would of liked to have seen you go through the pain stank of doing the back 3, cause that is the big challenge.still, very helpful, though.

I personally see no point in getting the expensive plugs. I recently changed the plugs out on my '98 Civic, I just used what the manual told me to use. They were NGK's and didn't come pre-gapped. Only cost me $10 for the 4, and only took me like 15 minutes! My car now runs awesomely again. And for all the people complaining about it being a pain to get the back row of plugs in and out on a Honda V6, have you seen other manufacturer's V6's? Yeah Honda's are easy. At least Honda was thoughtful enough to flatten out the air intake manifold. Except for the cheesy plastic engine covers, no removal of anything needed.

it should be 13 ft/lbs, it doesnt need to be exactly that, but make sure the plug is snug, not loose or not tight either.. snug is when you tighten it by hand till it stops, and give it a little turn with some force till it stops

Thank you for the video. 1/8 turn is subjective. Better to use a torque wrench and use the proper setting.

My Honda accord wiring harness for the coils is the exact same as shown in the video. Where can I find an extra harness ? I’ve looked everywhere I feel
