Cervical Spine Series: Rotation Corrective

Now we are going to take a look at improving your cervical rotation. This is most often noticed when trying to back your car out of the driveway or trying to back into a parking spot, and you might be limited or feel some tightness along the lateral sides of neck. To begin place the towel behind your neck and crisscross your hands with the towel. Whichever hand is on top is the direction you should rotate the neck. If your right hand is on top, you will turn your head to the right while pulling your hand to the right, and your left hand will simply be resting on the chest. The towel serves to maintain the posture of the cervical spine as well as gaining end range of motion. You want the towel to be directed on the jawline and try not to pull with the other side.
