Dude, so great to see a camera review with PRINTS! Outstanding. What paper are you using here on these prints, really wonderful shots and a great review.

I love this camera, the first rangefinder I ever used—got it for $3.00 at an estate sale 🎉

I have a Konica Auto S2 that belonged to my grandfather, one of my favorite cameras to shoot for so many reasons.

I picked up my first film camera because of this video. It just feels great to hold this camera in my hands. Absolutely love it!

Thanks for a nice presentation of this little camera. I bought one at an online auction last year for $20 but haven't used it yet. Will immediately test with black and white film

I absolutely love mine, I picked mine up about 10 years ago for $50; also there is a little adapter available, that takes a hearing aid battery and converts it to the correct 1.35v, no need to compensate with the ISO.

Found an immaculate C35 automatic at a thrift store for $30 in the original leather case. Has been my go to for when my canon ae1 is to much work to pack

This camera looks really good, and kinda affordable, too. I'm looking for a similarly easy to use and lightweight film camera. Thanks for the video and the sample images.

Cool video! Enjoyed it. Love the prints and yes that 38 is a winner. You might be interested in the Konica IIIA as well. It’s a fully manual step up even from the S3 and it totally rivals any Leica.

One of a few rangefinders that I wouldn't sell. My wife absolutely hates my collection! Excellent review.

I have bought a C35FD (the Japanese edition of the Auto S3) and I am waiting for it to arrive. I got a very good price because it is supposed to not work well, the shutter is unstable because the power unit is unstable, according to the seller's description. I have the impression that it is a question of the battery, because they used an LR44 and perhaps it was not at 100 percent of its capacity or who knows. I think that an SR44 will be better for you, I will try it when it arrives. And if not, I hope it's easy to fix. You are aware that it has a manual 100 x 100 mode, right? Thank you

The old battery was 1.35v you can use a Wein cell or other adapter otherwise using 1.5v on its own will skew the light meter by about a stop.

So what modern batteries can I use? Very helpful video. I just found one in my basement, that used to be my father in law’s. Almost trashed it.

Are those silver gelatin prints you made? They're big! I haven't made it past 11 x 14 yet.

I came here today because I stumbled across this camera at a realitives house who is 92. I still need a battery and film but I have to try it

Can you elaborate a little on the light meter issue? I'm currently running a test roll through a Konica Auto S3 I picked up recently. I had a roll of Kodak Gold 200 so just loaded that up.

I have a new LR44 1.5V battery in the camera. I've set ASA to 100 and will see how this film turns out. That's correct right?

The confusion for me was that you said you had 400 speed film but you "normally rate at 200. So you set ASA 100."

I'm new to film shooting so bear with me. So you're saying you use a 400 speed film but you normally use ASA 200 in order to underexpose that film right? but in this camera because of the light meter issue you set at ASA100 right?

I was given a Minolta Hi-Matic 7s Range Finder with a 45mm 1.8
I ran a test roll through it and it seems like the focus is off. Where is the best place to send my camera to get the focus adjusted?

I have one of these cameras! I’m not sure my meter works though. Does the internal meter have to work on this camera to be able to use it properly? Since you can’t adjust the aperture manually…?
