An interesting fact: According to the book Ghosts of K2, Schoening's friend gave him his American hickory axe before the trip, insisting it was stronger than the European ash everyone else was using at the time. Great history. Thank you for the video.

Great first video, good underserved content niche. The ambient sound is good, but just a tad too loud as compared to the narration, it should support, not compete for attention. A very common mistake when reading aloud or when public speaking is the awkward interruption when sentences continue after a line break, this can be easily mitigated by structuring the script into generously spaced paragraphs rather than large blocks of texts, or by including symbols or instructions to achieve the rhythm you had in mind when you wrote the words. Recommendation for a future video: On January 22nd, 1982, Luftwaffe Lieutenant Jürgen Gundling, with considerable risk to his own life, flew his Lockheed F-104 Starfighter (unofficially nicknamed Widowmaker) across Europe through hostile winter conditions to deliver life saving experimental medicine to a dying little girl in Sardinia.
