Because while 360hz is what most pros use, it's not common to have in general peripherals. 240hz is more widely available to supply.

It's true that playing with a monitor at that speed and quality is incredible, although the games don't work that well for me lately because of my Windows 11.

I was just stoked to finally play 120 hz when I got a new computer 7 months ago.

You can't even get close to 360 fps in endgame anyway so it's not a big deal imo

The jump from 144 hz to 240 hz wasn't that huge for me, so the difference between 240 and 360 hz is even smaller

I think there are 2 main reasons, one they dont even know about.
1, what the video said
2, 360hz does not give as much of an advantage compared to 240hz, and it will cause less 1% and 0.1% frames (moree frame drops and hitches in gameplay, which is really bad in tournaments

240 is still really high refresh rate like is 360 THAT much of a difference

I recently got a 240hz monitor and I switched back in forth between 144hz and 240hz and only noticed a super slight difference between the two (it could have been placebo). So 240 to 360 just seems like a useless upgrade to me plus my pc can’t run 360 fps in most games. 144-240 is a good cap of frequency.

unless if epicgames got a sponsor on 360hz monitors than they will change it, other than that I don't think they would change the monitor probably for the next 3-4 more years.

360 are more expensive.
Thus most players are prevented from truly developing their skills and are thus handicaped from the start by not having any experience at 360hz.
And some of them might actually be much better than those on 360, but are for reasons I mentioned earlier unable to demonstrate it.
That is why

Peterbot's been on 240 already so while everyone's adjusting he can just keep dominating. After how they've played the entirety of Chapter no way they don't place at least Top 10 in Globals. We might be preparing to see a three peat. 👑🔥🔥🔥🔥

There is two arguments for high frequencies: Motion looking fluent and lag.

There are apps, which show you several frequencies with an without motion blur side by side. The most difficult movement is a small object moving at hogh speed, which we have mostly in air shooters. Even there for me 60Hz motion blurred is as fluent as can be. I can see a difference with 120Hz, but it is not better.

There are also apps with which you can test the complete lag. You have to react on a change on the screen with a reaction depeding on what is shown, e.g. an arrow in the direction you have to move you mouse or dots popping up in colors for the different buttons. The complete lag including the human turns out to be high, up to 500ms. A 60Hz dislay can cause max 16ms delay, a mouse with a bad poll rate 8ms and so on... this all is small compared to the human reaction time. So better to train yourself.

Don't get fooled:
Pros play with costly equipment, because the companies pay for it as advertisement. That happens in all sports.

I relate to this. I remember thinking 60 was more than enough until I got my first 144hz monitor, and suddenly 60hz felt unplayable. Once you upgrade, what you used to have feels untolerable and the pros don't want to have that same feeling so they limit themselves to 360 so they won't suffer when downgrading to 240hz for the tournaments.

I think part of the reason is everyone is connected to the same WiFi so it would cause lag because if 100 people are rendering Fort its at 1040p 360hz or even 1440p 360hz it makes the WiFi have to render more per second and the WiFi probably won't be big enough to have 300+ megabites a sec per person (idk how much you need for 360hz)

Unless you’re running a ridiculous GPU and or you’re willing to play at 1080P, then these monitors make no sense. The average GPU can’t even run the extreme settings and get above 80 FPS in 4K and that means they either drop the image quality dramatically, or they drop the resolution dramatically.

The real problem is that most of the people buying these would be better off putting money elsewhere in their machines and trying to get it all to match fps, refresh, and quality that is acceptable. If they did that, they would enjoy their systems, that much better.
