Dolmabahçe is the largest palace in Turkey. It has an area of 45,000 m 2 and contains 285 rooms. The design contains elements from baroque, rococo and neoclassic styles and traditional Ottoman architecture
It is separated into a southern wing (the neighborhoods reserved for men) containing the public representation rooms, and a northern wing (Harem) area for the sultan and his family.
The Dolmabahçe Palace is extensively decorated with gold and crystal. Forty tons of gold was used to melt the ceilings. The world's largest Crystal Bohemian chandelier chandelier is in Ceremonial Hall They used to decorate expensive stones, Marmara marble, alabaster
