Everyone knew back in the day that this was promoted as an in-between piece for episodes II and III. It was promoted and created to fill in the gaps for the second and third movies

I love the Micro series but it’s worth mentioning that George had a big part in creating TCW as well, he was very directly involved with its story and inception and I some elements were carried over directly from the comics/micro series into TCW

I always loved the scenes where they decide to knight Anakin and his actually Knighting Ceremony. It explains a lot. The other Clone Wars series doesn't do that while I do enjoy it at times.

My biggest issue with TCW is Anakin's character. In RotS you can tell he is a freshly knighted Jedi that is still immature and headstrong albeit better than at the start of the war. There is absolutely no way the order would have trusted him with a padawan and an entire legion of clone troopers under his command.

Same with the deleted scenes with shak tii make so much sense. I was so upset when I found out that they weren’t called canon anymore

Most definitely! The 2003 clone wars micro series fits in with the movies and canon way better than the 2008 the clone wars series does and most importantly they actually did General Grievous right and he was so awesome and cool. They did him so dirty in the 2008 the clone wars series.

Micro series: Perfectly connects ep 2 & ep 3 and shows anakin's character development.

Tcw: Creates dozens of retcons and ruins 3 of the villains and changes anakin's entire character just so its not "The Prequels"

The later 3D clone wars was officially a remake of this clone wars and was made canon. As their capabilities with animation got better it made sense and personally I really enjoyed the newer series plus it does tie in with the movies in fact also ends in the movies with scenes overlapping eventually or filling in the gaps. But as George Lucas was involved with this seried so he was with the other animated series which also didn't introduce some characters since people would know them from this 2002/2003 editions.
