My great-aunt was responsible for much of the artwork, especially the dog scene; great-aunt Retta-Scott was the first woman to ever be credited as an illustrator in any Disney film. (Bambi 1942)

Im honestly getting addicted on these shorts. The way that lady speaks is just so relaxing and makes me super interested in whatever topic she is talking about.

All Disney main characters losing their parents...
The first time I seen frozen and Anna was hugging her parents goodbye and saying she'll see them in a few months I couldn't help but chuckle and think "this is a Disney movie, no you won't"
Immediately a ship in a storm next scene
"Told ya"

Old school Pinocchio is pretty horrific too. I watched it with my kids and when the boys turn into donkeys and cry for their mothers my kids were crying. I had forgotten about that part!

There's body horror and psychological thrillers. Then there's Bambi with the emotional horror.

I'm glad someone recognised it for what it is... I found that movie so scary

Broke my collar bone once and the hospital staff wheeled a tv over to my bedside so I could watch Bambi on video while I waited to be xrayed. Feels like such a retro memory now

It seems like my memory of Bambi is very different from most people... I remember liking it because it had cute animals.

I saw "Bambi" in the theatre when I was about four, and I cried until I couldn't breathe.

The audience got a bit uncomfortable when the scary-eyed old man enthusiastically yelled out “snuff movies”

I forgot how traumatic it is until I watched it with my daughter when she was little. I fully expected nightmares. To my relief, none from her...
I'm the one who had nightmares.
Being a single mom; her dad not really being in the picture.
I don't think I'd necessarily classify it as a horror though. Walt Disney must not have liked his mother very much.

bambi probably felt like a horror movie 80 years again but not so much now

Not one of them said Animation, and I KNOW she was waiting for that, and I'm so proud they didn't.

Explains why I was kind of scared all the time while watching it as a kid huh

Finding Nemu was scarier for me as a kid than all other horror movies 🤣

That explains a lot. I've only watched that movie a handful of times... Maybe even less than 5 times because I can't handle it. There's so much adorableness going on and then they go and do that. They should've marketed this movie as an animal documentary. 😭😭
