During Ghana’s President John Mahama's inauguration ceremony earlier this week, Burkina Faso’s leader Ibrahim Traore sparked concerns when he met his Ghanaian counterpart with a pistol holstered at his waist. Traore was one of the 17 heads of state invited to attend Mahma’s inauguration ceremony. Reports suggest that many described this as an unusual move for a head of state to carry a sidearm to an inauguration as the security of the visiting leader is the responsibility of the host nation. Social media users also questioned whether it was all right for a leader to carry a gun in public. Traore has been Burkina Faso’s President since 2022. Very clever title ….however may I suggest that this channel attempt with more enthusiasm to report the full story which would also include truthful information regarding the reason behind the gun on Captain Ibrahim Traoré hip during one of his rare trips to travel outside of his country . First is that Captain Traoré is a soldier, but the most important reason for this weapon is that his life has been threatened with the attempts of assassination a total of 19 times in a 24 month timeframe. So for the last two years almost every month there’s been an attempt on his life. That’s how viciously some don’t want to see this man to succeed for his country. Are there any other country leaders worldwide that have faced this kind of pressure I think not. The title gives the false narrative as if this president came to a ceremony with the notion he was carrying this gun to yield fear to those in his company which most certainly was not the impression the people wildly cheering for him felt. Do better with your journalism. The bias propaganda reporting must stop!!
