Man killed during shooting in Whataburger parking lot

One person was killed and another was injured during a shooting outside a Whataburger restaurant in northwest Houston Tuesday afternoon, Houston police said.

To the folks criticizing HPD for not preventing crime let’s put this into perspective. HPD is severely understaffed. Houston is the 4th largest city in the U.S, the next 2 cities comparable to its size in terms of population is L.A and Chicago, L.A has over 10, 000 officers and Chicago has over 13, 000 officers. Houston in comparison has little over 5, 000 and Houston geographical size is 3 times the size of Chicago and over 100sqmi larger than L.A. See the problem? It’s literally impossible for HPD to be everywhere and police effectively. Something’s got to change. We need more officers.
