Totally agree about the ponchos! Knitters brought slipovers back in style a few years ago and now I think we’ll move toward ponchos next. I could see them being worn over winter jackets, too.

I’m so ready for the vintage summer blouse tops to be back. 4ply (even 3ply) isn’t scary, it’s HOTT ❤️‍🔥

I totally agree on the layered knits prediction! I also just think in general, tighter-gauge knits will be trending as opposed to the chunky knits that dominated in 2020-2022. I foresee more fingering-weight sweaters, cardigans, and blouses, and even maybe some lace-weight garments. I personally am knitting a fingering-weight long sleeve shirt/sweater at the moment and am planning a lace-weight long sleeve, both envisioned as layering pieces. Now thinking about a fingering-weight vest to layer on top!

The layering pieces are mindblowing, absolutely love it, and would knit the cardigantshirt. You put all of it into such a fresh inspiring vlog. Thank you

there is already a pattern for the asymmetry style, the pattern is called Clematis Sweater by Emma Maier and it's a cardigan.

I think it'd be so cool seeing different cultures interact with knitting and for people to be using designs and art from their communities more in their knitting! I am personally planning a few peices from designs from my culture

I feel like you were in my brain during this video… been thinking about a lot of the same kind of designs. Love the idea of more structured/fitted knits.

I am halfway through your video whilst commenting this, but have you heard of Schiaparelli? I think you'd like looking through the history of their knitwear. They had sewing and knitting patterns, one of the more famous designs was the bow knot sweater, which you can find a pattern of. The sweaters were hand knit, lightweight and had very fun simple colourwork. You've probably seen some before.

You should check out Starcrossed Knits! A lot of her patterns have the vibes you were describing. I test knitted the Deuxieme Cardigan last year, which is an all over 2x2 rib cardigan with dramatic bust/waist shaping to make it very form fitting. She also has a cardigan/pullover in testing right now with a medieval unicorn tapestry motif. Her style aligns with a lot of the trends you talked about here.

I recommend Fabel knitwear for anyone drawn to the victorian silhouettes! She's a Norwegian knitwear designer. I haven't tried any of her patterns myself, but there are a lot of pieces that might fit this style, though a bit more classic and romantic than your examples, perhaps - I really loved the pieces you found for bringing something modern to the silhouette.

Ohhh! Watercolor colorwork’s a great term! LoL I do a lot of that too, usually heavy lace & sock weight yarns, especially sock weight alpaca/silk boucle with sock weight or heavy lace yarn.

I love the look of the watercolour colour work! I'd love to see more of that. Great selections!

There’s a few free designs from Hobbii that I think fall into a few of these categories! The ribbed harmony top, meadow sunset wrap, paris light sweater, springlicious sweater, and some of their ponchos are ones i’m personally interested in making this year. and most of them are free (as far as I could see they’re not incredibly size inclusive on a whole but a great place to start looking at silhouettes and such)

Yes, I like the tank over the cardigan but in a finer gauge for sure. It would be great if the over, over sized trend would end. It will more me personally because I feel like wearing something different.

Love this video! I referenced it in a new article I just posted on my Substack about the rise of medieval graphics in modern culture
