I thought you were going to tell us how to reprogram the BMS to make the Ami a fire breathing dragster 🤣😂

Well explained about how to go faster in the Ami. I don't think I would feel safe going much above the 28mph it was designed for but I expect there will be some people out there who are plotting to get the things to go faster and end up getting the Ami banned.

A Very Interesting Episode. I agree that 28mph is fast enough. Part of the fun of Driving is the scenery. Keep up the Good Episodes my Friends.

Loved the video, but think 28mph would be enough for me without all the safety protection, great to have two videos a week guys.

Mister Me & Mister Boo & Elton a very very well explained vlog on the 28mph limit of the Citroen. 👍it wouldn't surprise me if someone hasn't already got something to increase the speed capacity 🤔tbh the part of the charm of the Ami is its low speed capabilities & it is a fantastic change from the usual 'I need to be somewhere like yesterday' brigade. 28mph is plenty fast enough given the design of the car & the younger generation who are allowed by law to drive it. Thanks again for another great vlog & looking forward to your further adventures in Elton👌

I was suspecting a cliff was involved at some point but it was a one-time thing.

Very Interesting! Shame I was not notified of this, that's why it pays to check the channel video page frequently. Your excellent report brings a couple of things came to mind Tim. First being that I believe the Roll-over potential increases with the square of velocity, and the Ami being a light vehicle with a short wheelbase, less than proficient steering inputs at higher speeds could end in an undesirable outcome. I;ll drop the designer of the Twizzy 'Power Box' (A performance tuner that plugs into the ODB port) a message to see if he has anything for the Ami.

Well explained video. My only, and major, reservation is that the brakes may not be up to managing speeds well in excess of the limited 28th. Don’t want you going over the cliff edge. Looking forward to the next video. M from Malvern.

Takes me back to restricting motorcycles in the late 70’s. 30mph was brought in for mopeds as we appeared to keep trying to kill ourselves doing exactly what you do in Le Ami 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

Downhill with a chubby sixteener astride it the moped’s could all exceed their maximum legal speed quite considerably. Find a sixtyish British mske and I guarantee his eyes will mist over at the memory of it all.

The Ami looks like it could provide similar amounts of fun. Keep up the good work chaps. If it could run at 50mph max, for urban UK use, it would be an absolute cracking cheap commuter.

You could always get Mr Boo to Run Behind while Pushing it.! 😂👍

Yep it was limited by valeo the the battery manufacturer, the limiter is apparently located in the inverter, 10mph more would be sufficient so your not holding people up in a 40…..

Close to all sport scars here in Germany (i guess in other EU countries as well) are electronically limited to 250 km/h which should be fast enough for any practical purposes, but there are lots of small IT tuners which will just hack the software and take out this limit. The main problems are the tires, which of course are matched to the specification ex-factory. In general, it's a stupid idea to eliminate safety features.
You show with your videos how far you can travel, and we can see how much you do see! Stay safe and keep the videos coming 😉👍

Never mind the totes and mugs merch, if you're going that fast in the Ami underpants might be the way to go, judging by Mr Boos face 😂

The Twizzy has a mod box that can be purchased to plug into the OBD2 socket to make the vehicle do 50 mph.

I ride my old bicycle quite quickly (average 20mph) because I hate cycling and want every trip to end as soon as possible. (I do 70 miles per week, every week, and have done for almost the last 15 years.)

When I was a car driver I didn't like following a dawdling, dithering, wandering bike at 10mph, so I ride now as if I were following behind myself in a car. I keep close to the kerb so that nutters can still get past.

The Ami's top speed seems good enough for most daily drives. It's nice, though, on a bike, when the traffic's heavy, to be able to stop, get off, and leave the way clear for raging White Van Man, who always does 50 in a 20 zone.

It's difficult to move aside in an Ami, and as there's no tolerant 'sans permit' culture here in Britain, I'd be worried about being nudged into a ditch by Mr Angry (and his two mates and their pickaxe handles).

The fastest I've gone here [in Yorkshire] has been 47 mph, and that was quite fast enough. The thought of a wheel collapsing and my luscious squidgy bits sliding along the tarmac for 30 yards without the protection of a motorbike rider's leathers, gauntlets, and crash helmet makes me go all... unnecessary.😳

I imagine the Ami would cope pretty well with higher-than-designed speeds, but I'd be concerned about its stability on public roads; drifting across into the oncoming traffic at 70mph could really spoil your day.

there's some aftermarket kits to upgrade the performance, but I wouldn't recommend because you will need to upgrade also the brakes, , more speed you need better brakes, also the car itself lack some security features like ABS, airbag, ESP and many others.
so, keep it stock, it's the safest way for you and for the car :)

Hi you two, not a comment on this video but I just found “Along the French Riviera 1937” on utube (10 mins). Fascinating, so much has changed but so much is just he same! An idea for an episode if you can splice together excerpts from 1937 with your filming of the same places today? Paul & Ali
