How to rebuild a Peugeot / Citroen Key fob

How to disassemble and reassemble a key fob shell for a Peugeot 107 207 307 407 Citroen C4 etc.

Have seen a lot of videos online that advocate knocking out the small roll pin, but I find it's much quicker, easier, and simpler to just disassemble it properly. This way also does a lot less damage to the key.

If this is French engineering I'm not surprised they surrendered in the last war.

“a little bit fiddly” the man said.
60-year-old with bad eyes and sausage fingers here. It took me a lot longer than you, but I did it.
Knowing that I was doing the right thing helped me not give up.

Damn i was doing this on my own, reasembled the parts correctly but had no idea you have to twist the spring. I wish i swallowed my pride 2h earlier and searched for your video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 💪.

thank you so much! bought a pair of fobs to replace old, worn out keys for my Picasso, but no one would touch them to cut the blank keys, and wanted 30-60£ for the priveledge! your video saved me a lot of money and only cost a little time. Thank you again!

7:48 HUGE thanks Oliver
Started on own before finding your video
Job not so straight forward as thought but your video walk through makes light work of it
Thank you so much for taking the time & effort to help us all out with this well made video👍

It’s all that’s needed in a “how to” video. Nice. Update, actually it looks a lot easier to pop out the pin on the old and new key fobs than fiddling around with the spring and you still need to change out the circuit board.

Thank you Oliver. You make this look really easy and have filmed it really well. I did get there in the end but had to walk away 3 times when the frustration was getting too much. Bottom line I spent £6.99 instead of £275 so I really appreciate your video tutorial. Thanks

This was the video I was searching for... it lets me see which parts on mine were broken. The tabs/lugs on the collar and button can quite easily break off. Thanks very much, Oliver. Great communication.

Many Thanks.a video that shows exactly what you need to know, Rather than the infuriating, for anything further you need to consult a dealer. As those us old remember from the old written manuals, Regards Dave

Thank you for the video! My original key was a bit different. It didn't have the second metal part under the button. The new one had it, so I knew what I was doing, thanks to you 😊 Cheers!

Great video. Worked perfectly. My key is old and the lock thing seated first is a little different... but this video gave me the knowledge I needed. Nice.
