As a fan of both, it really is “peak inspired peak.” No point arguing about it, they’re both amazing. It even came full circle with Sparking Zero, they made references to Sonic in some of the dialogues.

Nothing copies anything. They get inspiration from other works to create their own. That is how writing new stories work. Learning from what you like and came before and making your own variations of those themes.
