It's important to note that you keep the queen at a knight's distance from the opponent's king. Then you just copy every move the king does(eg. the king moves up, you also move your queen up one square) and eventually you'll trap him in a single file.

I'm not a low rated player. But many times I need to end the game only with premuves. And this is very helpful.

Basically, Check the king like you would with a knight, (L shape) except instead of a knight its a queen, then just keep doing it until kings forced to move a rank. Until the back rank where you move your king to mate.

you can also use the queen moving with knight distance and to stop that when opp. king reaches corner square. Bring the king into play and checkmate. it's easier to follow.

Knight opposition with queen and copy then that shuts them on the side of the board then move the king down and then do any basic queen checkmate, it's quicker and easier.

For us less intelligent folks it can also just be done like a rook checkmate, just mirror their moves with your king and when you have opposition check them, then repeat

A lot easier version is the put the queen in a rook position in which it would be a check and then you copy each move untill there left with two squares and then you bring the king in

Im now searching for the most difficult technique that works to teach queen and king mate so the students will feel like geniuses when they "invent" a better way to checkmate and therefore remember it way better.
