My deepest thanks to you, Will, for reading Return to Edan, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it! There will be more to come as, late this year, I'm hoping to release While Darkness Gathers, a standalone sequel set about 15 years after The Edan Trilogy ends. Also, you are reading some fabulous books, including more Icelandic sagas, and whenever you talk about your course reading at university, I wish I could go back to school!

Watchmen is really good, I love both the comic book and its movie adaptation from 2009 :)

Exciting to hear it's been such a productive reading month! I feel you on Warm Hands, still very strong, but I was hoping for another all time fave like Winternight. And oooh I really need to get back into the Edan trilogy as well, though I might just wait for Allen's audiobook narration at this point. Great reviews, hope the rest of the month treats you well!

Totally agree - Edan deserves the props. Love K. Arden as well. Good selections! I didn't love Watchmen; it just wasn't my jam. Love graphic novels though. Not enough people give them a go. Used to love them for the classroom because the combo of images with the text means they really help struggling readers with comprehension. I always had a ton on my classroom library shelf.

Edan and Icelandic Sagas, huzzah! 🤩 Even though it is in Norwegian, I would also recommend checking out «Rolandskvadet/Roland og Magnus-kongen», a folk song based on The Song of Roland: There are great renditions with Student Choirs, orchestras and simply folk versions! The Song of Roland is definitely the inspiration for Boromir’s Last Stand, with Aragorn as Charlemagne!

As for myself, I have finished «The Fort» by Adrian Goldsworthy (City of Victory Trilogy #1, Historical Military Fiction set during the Campaigns of Roman Emperor Trajan, Sequel Trilogy to the «Vindolandia» Trilogy), «Empire of Silence» by Christopher Ruocchio (Sun Eater #1, Space Opera/Sci Fantasy) and «Islands in the Net» by Bruce Sterling (80’s (Post-)Cyberpunk 😄), and I have just started on «Howling Dark» (Sun Eater #2)! I hope to also continue on with «The Lyonesse Trilogy» by Jack Vance and finish «The Green Pearl» (#2, Arthurian-ish Fantasy) this month! Cheers!
