Walmart’s Onn. Streaming Stick and Onn. Streaming Device are flying off the shelves! But does that mean they’re good? No, it doesn’t. To be fair, one of them is actually pretty good, for the price. But the other is hot garbage. In this video, Craig takes us on a tour of both devices and what’s in store for their $25 and $30 price tags. Which one should you get? That’s easy. But you’ll have to watch and see.

I purchased both of setup was much quicker than you described, I found that both the stick and the box are quite agree the extra $5 for the box is definitely the way to go but if all you do is stream and have a 1080i tv the stick is a good value.

I have one of these 4K devices personally and I can say I never see any lag, any latency with the remote, nor any general performance issues. I also have the Chromecast with Google TV (just a re-skinned Android TV) and the performance is almost exactly the same on both.

They are now only 19.99 for the box, so for me it was a no brainer to use as an extra streaming device in my bedroom. It streams just fine and I was able to pair it to my Nest Mini for sound, which I also got at Wal Mart for $24.99. So for less than $50 with tax, I got my streaming and sound device. Really can't argue with that price.

I just bought an Onn streaming player. I have a Roku Ultra. My internet is Cox 150MBPS. MY ultra gets about 50 to 60 MBPS. The Onn gets 160MBPS. I couldn't believe the difference. I paid $19.88 for the Onn. I am switching because I'm just tired of Roku's selfish dealings with companies. HBO Max and now YouTube. I think because they have such a large portion of the market they can do what ever they want no matter how it effects their users. Well they have lost two customer in me and my adult son. I am buying a second Onn for my other TV on payday. I love my Onn. It is fast and the interface is easy to use. I'm a senior and resistant to change but this was so easy. I highly recommend the Onn streaming player. Not the Stick.

The box works pretty damn good, was on sale for about $20 so even if it was shit its not like it would break the bank. So far no buffering streaming live tv.

It is $15 now. I have an HD CRT TV I use for retro game or to play music and videos when I play new games on my OLED.

Old CRTs have lots of overscan. This takes away some of it. Roku, Apple, not Fire does that as far as I know. The TV is also 720p.

For me, this is a bargain.

The stick is not that bad you just got to turn developer options on then turn the animations off

I've had the stream stick for over a year and half now, no complaints, only had to change the batteries on the remote once so far.

Great video. I am using my Fire TV Stick about 99% of the time with Roku used once in a while. I find that the Fire TV Stick gives me fairly good streaming. But, I am tired of Amazon updates changing setting on my stick and after the last update my "home" button as well as the "Voice" commands no longer work. How does this box stack up against the Fire TV Stick?

Not all 4k is created equal. The Onn 4k box does NOT support Dolby Vision. The Chromecast with Google TV, Tivo Stream 4k and Fire TV 4k all support Dolby Vision. Just wait until any one of those devices goes on sale, which is fairly often, and you've got a much better device than the Onn 4k box at a comparable price.

Do you think that remote would connect to a Google Chromecast?

I have the stick version and it was a huge pain in the ass. Didn't want to connect to my wifi, then didn't want to connect to internet, then couldn't download update. I finally had to use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter. It was meant for Amazon Fire devices but it works on this too. Only issue was they put the USB port so deep inside the stick that the adapter's plug couldn't reach it. I had to cut away the casing around the port.
