Intro to Public Speaking: Example of a Great Informative Speech (Netflix)

This is a speech I gave about Netflix and the impact of machine learning on modern society. The speech was for an "Introduction to Public Speaking" class. We had to have three clearly cited sources, which is the only part of the speech I didn't have wholly memorized.

The content of the speech concerns how Netflix works, the algorithm that it uses to suggest movies to watch. While it is a simple introduction, using a curious and hopefully funny example of a Netflix algorithm, I think it is a great speech. The "Broncoflix 2000" is a reference to Fayetteville State University (where I attend and where the speech was given). We are the Broncos! Also, to explain the jokes that may become irrelevant over time... The part of the speech where I say "Ooh I think that I found myself machine learning" was a reference to the godforsaken Cheerleader song. The joke about Straight Outta Compton making $100 million in T-shirt sales was a reference to parody "Straight Outta FSU" t-shirts that were everywhere on campus at the time. The joke about waiting for Jurassic World to come out on VHS was about VHS players, this ancient device from the 20th century that people used to need to watch videos. Way back when.

For this speech, I received a 98%, losing two points for failing to turn in a hard copy of my citations. But as the first speech I've delivered, I was very happy.

I hope you enjoy. Please like (if you like), share (also if you like), and subscribe if you wish.

Best of luck with your public speaking!

" Next up we have 'Minions', Sandra Bullock's best work since Speed" that was a great joke man, guess the class is just too young for that one

Brandon, I'm a speech teacher and I've been using this video with my students for a few years, but this morning discovered that the video is not in sync with the audio. Is there any chance you can fix this? I'd like to keep rolling your speech as a sample for my classes. Thank you.

I also use this video in my speech classes. It's a great example! And yes, I would really appreciate if the video could be fixed! I would greatly appreciate it.
