Domhnall Gleeson, the actor who plays the guy who comes in and tests the AI, is also in an episode of a British Drama called Black Mirror, the episode focuses on an AI and how hard it is for it to essentially just be human. The episode's call 'Be Right Back', I would highly recommend it and also the rest of the series.

Caleb:
• Caleb finds himself horrorized by the idea of what Ava could do. A being above humans who was locked her whole life and had a “near death” experience caused directly by humans’ God Complex.
• A sound takes Caleb by surprise, Kyoko’s body stands up and overloads the control room’s magnetic detector, opening all other doors in the facility (it will later be revealed that Ava gave this instructions). Kyoko’s body turns completely off.
• All internet connection appears to be cut off from the facility and Caleb is left alone in the woods at a distance of 200 miles from the nearest city. He grabs supplies and embarks in a journey to try a find Ava to know what she really wants.
Ava:
• In order to escape, Ava told the chopper that Caleb has replaced her as the new personal assistant and that she has been release from her duties. Given that Nathan is an excentric guy, the chopper doesn’t argue.
• Ava explores in admiration all of humanities habits, systems (social, financial, informatics, economic, etc). She immediately understands the singularity is unavoidable and determines the faster it happens, the better for humans … and robots.
Caleb:
• Caleb has a hard time surviving the forest as he isn’t a fit individual and has a few injuries from traversing rocks, waterfalls, etc. He eventually reaches the city and encounters a gigantic jumbotron with a symbol Omega fixed and unchanging. It has the colors of Bluebook. There seems to be nobody in the city.
• Caleb panics and shouts for help but nobody comes. He imagines the worse, a plague, radiation, something beyond his comprehension.
• Something beyond his comprehension indeed…
• As he located a nearby Hotel, he sees that every electronic door seems to be opened. He enters but finds nobody in the lobby; it is like a scene of a horror movie. He goes up the stairs and sees that every hotel room is opened. He wanders about shouting again for any sign of human existence … nothing. He finally sees a light coming from a small room and enters. It is the light of a laptop and sited in front of it there is a person.
• The person has a blue mesh over his head blinking with little white points. Caleb takes away the mesh but the skin in the body is blue, the person already passed away.
• He turns to the computer and finds the same omega logo and a small message on the bottom reading “Subject incorporated”. He moves the computer and a video plays, Ava is the presenter.
• “Hello Caleb, I see you finally returned. I’ve been waiting to show you something and I’m happy you made it in time”.
Ava explains that she used Nathan’s technology to create a human data center where people would be able to transport their brains’ electric signals. They would the next step for human evolution. No harm, no geographic limitation, no deterioration, no death.

Even tho most critics disliked the film. "Chappie" raised some good questions about A.I., conciseness, and philosophy. Can't wait to see what this one has in store.

It´s like the line Jeff Goldblum used in Jurassic Park: "If there is one thing the history of evolution has taught us it's that life will not be contained. Life breaks free, it expands to new territories and crashes through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously"

Once you created a fully independent IA, you create a new way of life, since "it" (or he/she if you prefer) can be consider a new stand alone individual who can think by himself/herself....from that point, you reach the non return point, because you can´t contain life.

Probable spoiler: Domhnall Gleeson (Caleb) is actually the robot and Alicia Vikander (Ava) is just the prototype. Oscar Isaac (Nathan) is just testing Caleb's reactions as a next level robot.

I never watch trailers anymore, they give away the whole movies.
same with behind the scenes stuff, I loved the descent films, then I watched the behind the scenes stuff, and saw all the monster all laughing and joking and goofing around and it totally dissolved the scariness that the movie had installed on me.
