Attacking Logistic Chains. In WWII (before the US joined) the British Army in Africa was facing an Italian Army which vastly outnumbered them in men and armored vehicles, tanks. The solution: destroy the Italian fuel depots. And the British did that with an air raid and it worked, no fuel, no tanks. Apparently that strategy has been lost somewhere along the line.

Getting close enough to the front lines to use glide bombs is tricky. You put your bombers at risk since you’re typically launching from altitude to get longer ranges which will in turn attract SAM arracks. So a small step at best
