Damaged platinum wedding set has an easy fix

Did you know that sometimes a diamond eternity band can damage another ring if they’re worn together? These two were worn next to each other for a number of years and over time the girdles of the eternity band’s diamonds carved a chunk out of one of the prongs on the engagement ring. Thankfully the prong was made of platinum and it was a smooth repair to use my laser welder to fill in the notch. Instead of soldering the two rings together this customer opted to add a third ring to sit in the middle, sandwiched between the eternity and engagement rings. A simple, elegant solution.

Beautiful! That's exactly the stack I have. A solitaire, then a thin band, and then a thick band with stones all around it :) I love it

I’m used to be a jeweler myself and ALWAYS tell customers or people in general, if you have melee diamond ring (pavé, channel, infinity setting). Hold your ring against something that vibrates. You will see if any of your stones (prongs) are loose.

Initially I thought client wanted their whole-stone'd band(type I've heard is uncomfortable & prone to damge besides) split in half to create a 3band set, this was still a beautiful solution ❤

Hey, love the vid! Just so you know, the flash warning is really hard to see behind the bottom part of the UI (Title, channel name, etc) so it can be pretty ineffective. Maybe put it near the top?

i hate eternity / pave bands for this reason. Also always solder your bands for this reason.

If that was my set, I would have had the eternity band reshaped and add a few more stones to a bump out and soldered the bands together. On adding the spacer, same thing, solder all three together. The solitaire would have looked lovely with an added hidden halo…
