How to ACTUALLY repent for your sins

Is there a certain prayer you have to say? Is there a certain routine you have to go through before you start your prayer?

No. It’s as simple as this. God, please forgive me for I have sinned. I did so and so sin. Please forgive me and help me to overcome this. Yes, it’s as simple as that. You don’t have to overcomplicate it because God doesn’t look at what you say, or what you have to offer… because He CREATED YOU.

He looks at your heart. 1 Samuel 16:7: For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. You could even be too guilty to say anything, but the moment you get in His presence, the moment you CHOOSE to sit and call out for him in silence, he hears you, and he sits right beside you.

God is always with you. There’s nowhere you can go to avoid God. No matter where you are, if you are at your highest moment in life, or if you’re at rock bottom, God is ALWAYS with you.

I used to repent and sin over and over again i felt lost… one day I decided to change I prayed 20 minutes asking god to change me and I CHANGED it felt the holy spirit god’s peace life is amazing ever since, and yes i AM HUMAN I slip sometimes but since he changed me I slip but that doesn’t mean i will not rise and continue in the righteous path

Now the problem isn't asking for forgiveness, it's knowing that even after asking for forgiveness, one moment of letting your guard down, or just doing sth stupid and bam... It was hard to seek God again due to a lot of false information. Many would tell me that you had to pray in a certain way, or else God will not see your prayer as sincere.
