2 Iowa geese who found each other after losing their mates still thriving

When Blossom lost her mate Bud earlier this year, the staff at the Iowa cemetery pond where the two geese had been living took out a personal ad to find Blossom a new partner. And it surprisingly worked. Steve Hartman has more on how the new couple are faring in "On the Road."

Such a heartwarming story! Geese get such a bad rap, they are highly intelligent and very social. I lost my 23 yr. old white chinese gander in Nov. of 2021 after raising him from a wee gosling. He was widowed twice during his life but luckily, being a human imprint bird, I was his first true love. Knowing him was truly, a once in a lifetime experience. He was so smart and knew about 20 words and commands, just like a dog! RIP Marwyn, gone but never forgotten!

Being a goose owner whose goose who lost his mate my heart goes out to both of them. So glad they found each other. My goose now lives happily with 3 Muscovy drakes who are also bachelors. No worries they are all happy and well.♥️🦆😁

Seeing Blossom look into mirrored things was so sad, if it wasn't misinterpreted. The story is very cute and heartwarming. We humans can't replace a spouse so easily. If we could, just turn around! That said, if this is a tale of companionship for years, I'm game. I hope it works out great for them.
