If story 3 is real its definitely the top 5 craziest and intense story I've heard after years of listening to this stuff.

I feel so sorry for the guy in story 3. Hope he learns that he was just much of a victim of his father as anyone else involved with him. People can judge but he was a kid who had to grow up with this. Can only imagine the psychological damage that would do to someone. Hope he finds closer one way or another.

That poor OP in story 3. Losing both your parents in a year. But when it's worse knowing your dad was a serial killer and you had to hide that 10 years. I feel so bad for him.

Guy fleeing a traffic stop because his daughter might have been shot — arrested and "mandatory" $500 fine
Guy who actually shot the gun and could have killed the daughter — no real jail time whatsoever

Yeah... That makes sense. 😒

Story 3 was the most gripping thing I've heard in a long time.

For story 3…if the story really is true I want people to know a wife perspective. To the kid worried about breaking up his family by telling the truth. There’s a saying that every woman can be psychic up to a certain point. The mom knew for sure something was ‘off’ about her husband. You don’t stay in a marriage that long without realizing her husband saying some strange things to her over the years. She had a serious raised eyebrow on him and watched him like a hawk without him realizing it. She may have even wanted to leave him. Seriously.. then thought the same thing her kid did. ‘I don’t wanna break up my family’. That one discovery could’ve been the reason she needed to actually leaving him.

I think these home alone stories are the scariest of all types of true scary story categories and all the stories in this episode were phenomenal

Wow that kid who found the photo really messed up, if I was in a marriage with someone like that, I'd want to know, so I could protect my kids. If he had just alerted the police before even telling his father, maybe that family could've at least found some peace with knowing what had happened. That family will now probably never know.

I can’t believe a cop actually arrested the person racing to protect there kid. They should have understood circumstances. No wonder people don’t like cops.

Story 4 is what makes me thankful that we have other means of reaching out. Home phones only was a scary time honestly

The narrator in story 2 sounds just like my overprotective dad! I’m 27 and he’s still like that! I don’t think it’ll ever change but he’s a great father so I’ve learned to accept it over the years. However my dad also struggles with major anxiety for many years, especially when it comes to his kids, and he’s even admitted to it. As his daughter I try to be understanding and supportive and try to see it through his perspective since I’ve never been a parent, but I also had to be honest with him and tell him he can’t continue to let his stress and anxiety affect his life and other’s lives. I hope one day he can make peace with that advice, but even if he doesn’t, I won’t love him any less. Anyway that was a fantastic and touching story. I’m sorry he got punished by the law for following his parental instincts. If anyone should be arrested and fined it should’ve been that irresponsible fool playing with his firearm. This is also another reason why not everyone deserves to own a gun. I also like how the dad acted quickly the moment his daughter called for help and didn’t “brush her off” like these other “parents” I hear about in these Reddit stories.

my dad was shot and killed 3 months ago from his downstairs neighbor screwing around with his gun. it’s terrifying how often that sort of thing actually does happen.

did my man in story 3 just find out his dad is a serial killer and never tell anyone? idk why my brain auto went to serial killer but.

Story #2 is why I'm against mandatory sentence minimums and mandatory fines. They're absurd.

Idk if story #3 is real but NEVER tell a guilty person, "I'll give you the choice to go to the police or I will".. 🤦‍♀️ Just do it! If they felt guilty enough by then, they'd have likely already done it. I know sometimes they do confess but why take the chance? It just gives them the chance to hide their crime, or try to silence you.

++Edit: Guys, my comment was never about whether or not I understood the difficulty of OP's position. I do feel sorry for the guy but even OP himself came to the conclusion that his dad should go to jail, if you listened closely to the end. The only thing I'm saying is that giving his dad that ultimatum was a bad choice (since it gave him a chance to dispose of evidence & more). Since he felt that his dad should go to prison either way, he should've turned him in himself to avoid what happened.

Story 3…so frustrating. That kid turned adult handled it all so, so badly.
