I'm in UK and I bought one of these. Should have had it on April 1 but the Coronavirus lockdown meant that the dealership had to close apart from a skeleton staff to answer enquiries. The dealership delivered it at the end of May.
My previous car was a Mazda 3 and was ten years old. Never had to spend money on it apart from the annual service. During the time I had it it had 5 MOT's and I never got a even an advisory. (Not sure if you have anything like an MOT - Ministry of Transport test. When the car is 3 years old it is compulsory and is a comprehensive test. Brakes, tires, lights, seatbelts, wipers, washers, exhaust pipe and emissions are checked. If it is deemed a serious fault then the car is taken off the road until it's fixed. Any minor fault you get an 'advisory' which should be fixed asap. And, yes! You have to pay for the test.)
But I digress so back to the CX30.
Like a lot of the comments I liked the Soul Red colour but didn't like the way it made the plastic wheel arches stick out like a sore thumb so I went for the Mica - Dark Crysal Blue and you hardly notice the plastic: it doesn't hit your eye. Also I went for the top spec available but elected to have the manual transmission which is like a hot knife thru butter and no AWD. It's not really needed where I live in rural Staffordshire. Also opted for the 2.0 litre Sky Active X engine. That's the largest we can get in the UK or rather the largest Mazda sells in the UK, due to the emission levels and the Road Tax.
The car is a dream to drive, it's so easy and responsive and it corners like it's on rails. I said I lived in a rural area and boy do we have really twisted and narrow roads. Good fun to drive with this car: it's responsive and goes where you point it.
At the moment I'm getting 48 - 50 mpg but for comparison the Imperial gallon is larger than the US gallon (1US gallon = 0.83 Imp gallon)
I agree that for some people, especially tall people, may find the space restrictive in the rear seats, but that's not a problem for me.
The boot (trunk) space is not over large but it's ok for my needs. Disappointed that there's no USB or 12 volt outlet in the rear. Been useful for the grandsons... to keep them quiet.
I'm not saying that you should go and out and buy one of these cars but if it fits your criteria then it may be worth a look. Also look to the future as kids tend to grow fast. You may need to go a bit larger.
Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble but I'm multi-tasking. I'm drinking gin as I write this.🍸😊

No good reason for Mazda to keep selling the CX3

The only car in Mazda's lineup where you don't buy it in Soul Red. That plastic cladding is ridiculous... You need it in the Gray just to hide it.

I bought a white CX30 premium AWD. I love my car. Much nicer interior than rivals. Great safety features. Only thing, turbo engine would be great!

I bought a white preferred.. not rubric with the 3 toned but it's the one with Japan transmission my husband wanted.
But if anyone wants the best drive out there... this is it. I'm coming from a 03 avalon that I'm so in love with. So good luck to find me one!
The 5, nope to bumpy, too big for my needs mazda 6, not impressed. Cat in the cx30 here and I fell in love. But being a Toyota family we went there. Tried a few there. Just not happy. Went back to my cx 30 I had to have it! It turns on a dime. No complaints here. I'm wondering about back seat leg room. So we'll see. But no complaints here!

Take this car to that off road park you used to go to when you first started making videos.

please add important features as a text highlight. I guess narration is too fast for someone who wants to get all the details. I like Mazda 3 2020 review more.

Been shopping around for a new vehicle lately, don't like big SUV's but need something a little more than sedan-sized. This seemed like it would be perfect, especially for my price point, but after taking it for a test drive, a few big problems stuck out (keep in mind I am lean built and about 5'11''/180cm):
1) The window sill sits too high, almost above my shoulder, and the arm rest on the door is too low, which sucks if you want to rest your left arm on the side (and yes I played around with seat height);
2) Visibility out the back is very poor, and shoulder checks into blind spot area can be tricky - I know that there is technology to assist, but call me old fashioned but I still like to be able to reverse or parallel park through visual reference and not count on a screen;
3) The door frame seems to be a bit small - on numerous occasions I scraped my arms/shoulder getting in and out of the driver's seat;
5) As briefly shown in this video, the rear seat space is a bit tight.
Admittedly the interior was fairly refined (even on the base model I tried), handling was great, and not being a speed demon, the engine was fine for me, but the layout/sizing of the vehicle is what turned me away (it's the kind of everyday annoyances that would make for long-term buyer's remorse).
I've narrowed down my search to a 2020 Crosstrek Touring or Mazda CX-5 - thoughts? I prefer the Crosstrek overall (ride, safety, residual value), but the CVT has me worried. Most of what I do is city driving, but like the ability to get away in to the mountains for the weekend.

Very pretty and everything, but: 1)Rear view is horrendous/dangerous (it runs in the family...Google "Mazda 3's Poor Rear Visibility Makes It the Camaro of Compact Hatchbacks"). 2)Nobody here tells you about the AC problem (put in the YouTube search "Mazda CX30 ac problem when accelerating" and see that video). If you live in the Southeast US, you MUST have an AC that works ALL THE TIME!!! > Mazda is very focus on looking pretty, and at least they're succeeding at that!

I love your videos but hate this backseat and back window the car is nice, Mazda needs to decrease that front hood. Mazda has always been one of my favorite brands, but do they really last long? I rarely see any old ones except for the 90s, three or four from the mid 1980s, haven't seen two of those in a while. I do love that white Hyundai at the end and your son did good.

Dave I have followed you for many years. That review was not consistent with your skills. Try to balance the marketing with actual vehicle information. Try a test drive maybe? Im happy for your affiliate success.

This is my second choice after the Kia Seltos.

It looks like a wider version of the CX-3 and still not very practical with small backseat.

An extremely rushed review - or is this just an arrival review?

That large black plastic around the entire SUV makes it look CHEAP.
