Mazda was pioneering Japanese luxury back in the 90s alongside Lexus with the Mazda 929, a lux, unique, and capable sedan.

This is a beautiful SUV. Mazda has done a Fantastic Job on this redesign. The direct competitor is the Acura MDX Type S, which is $12-13K MORE . The Acura has an air suspension and Massaging front seats. I have a 22 MDX Advance which I lease until 8/2024. If the new Mazda CX-70 (no 3 Row - which I don't need) comes in close to this in it's new reesign, that will be the Winner in my Book. Mazda's have always been regarded as The Poor Man's BMW !! - ZOOM / ZOOM.

I seen one of these in traffic the other day and thought that it's nicer looking than anything european at the moment. I sense a lot of Mercedes and Volvo styling in the design. The drivetrain is awesome, and the interior is simple and refined.

Just leased a $56K Mazda CX-70 today.

The ONLY reason I ultimately picked Mazda over Kia and Hyundai was towing capacity. I preferred the Korean brands in all other levels. Loved the Santa Fe Calligraphy, but ultimately, the DCT transmission issues and the lower towing capacity drove me to Mazda.

Of note, I test drove the Ford Explorer ST (stickered for $64K) same day. The lowest trim CX-70 is infinitely better equipped and higher quality than the highest ST/Platinum trim. Shocked how awful everyone except Kia and Hyundai was compared to Mazda interior quality.

Very few "economy" brands do Luxury quality for economy cost. Mazda, Kia, and Hyundai blow everyone else out of the water. $60K+ US, EU, or Jpanese luxury brands will barely struggle to meet top trim Mazda, Kia, and Hyundai quality
