When you spoke about having an apron tummy, it made me feel so thankful do tuning in to your channel. I have an apron tummy and always thought I could not look stylish because of it. You are so elegant and beautiful and inspire plus size ladies to step into the light. Thank you.

Enjoyed this so much - thinking of 1930's - 40's pics of my beautiful ( late ) mother, 5' & petite, who because she & her sisters sewed, their trousers were tailored, well-fitted & in proportion . Also happy to see the contemporary comeback of today's trouser look .

i have always had the same issue of larger booty and hips with a small waist. Always a gape in the back. I have found that having that elastic in the back is very helpful. I adore the wide leg and find them to be very flattering. Thank you for this great video!

I’m just beginning my vintage journey! For a long time, being plus-size held me back from fully embracing it, but I’ve finally decided to go for it. I’m so thankful for your video—it was incredibly helpful. I love wearing skirts, but I’ve been wanting to add a few pairs of vintage-style pants to my wardrobe, and this gave me the confidence to try!

I have a short waist, no behind and have a stocky build. I have found the best luck in the men's department! I have been wearing men's jeans for decades. I love that they are sized by waist and inseam measurements, instead of some clothing designer's made up sizes. They fit my shape better, as I am built just like my Dad. When I went vintage, I stayed with men's wear. I have found some beautiful 1930, button fly trousers that fit me beautifully. The wool can be itchy for me, so I have a couple of pairs of "pettipants" that I wear underneath. My husband calls it my "Katherine Hepburn" look.

Thank you for the history and reminding us that there is still a bit of rebellion, a bit of edginess, when we ladies wear trousers. My favorite way to wear them now is with a t-shirt and sneakers. I have three pairs of trousers that I thrifted at Goodwill. They are divine. The quality is amazing. If anyone is interested in thrifting men's clothing, they are organized by waist measurement, so measure yourself before you go. And take a friend! Make it party.

I just found your channel. I subscribed. Thank you!

Hello 😸

And thank you for your video. It was well-made, with interesting and useful informations, you don't drag it on unnecessarily.
The different pants and outfits you presented are beautiful and inspiring. I fell in love with the second to last wide legged trousers!

While I don't live by it, vintage styles are beautiful and were made to accommodate and "flatter" curves so they are an excellent inspiration for us curvy ladies. :)

I am not plus size but still very curvy, even when I am not mid-size I am still an "hourglass"... And petite (as in very short). Which also comes with many challenges to find clothes, but especially pants that fit me well.😅
Your tips are all wonderful, and if I would like to add some I have learned over the years through trials and errors :
- fabric is important, I noticed that pants made from fabrics with some movement look better on me.
- front pleats tend to make my belly look much bigger than it is, so I try to avoid them (I carry my weight in my hips, butt and thighs, not in my tummy).
- knowing how to make all the adjustments necessary is a useful skill and learning to do it is not a waste of time
- pockets are complicated. It's mostly side pockets that look horrible but not only them. Pockets don't easily look good on curves, so you might consider pocketless pants (since pockets on women's pants are often useless anyway). And if you want them, pay attention to their shape and size, and their lining. They have to be made a certain way to look good.
- Pants tend to be more comfortable if there is a little bit of elasticity in the fabric (but not enough that it will loose its shape) or in the waistband. It accommodates weigh fluctuations, sitting for long period of times, etc. better.

Luckily I found that 1 pair of tapered pants that fit me like a dream and one pair of wide legged ones that fit almost perfectly... Unfortunately they were not made to last and the company is now closed off. So I have/want to overcome my anxiety of sewing pants and copy them because I love (wearing) them that much! And I'd like to try to make other styles, including those beautiful dark wide legged trousers at the end of your video 😍
If anyone is experienced with sewing pants and want to share some advices, thank you!

I just discovered your channel and love all those trousers! For the past year I’ve been writing a novel set in the late 1950s and I’m becoming a bit obsessed with vintage clothing. Thank you for the video, it’s fueled my obsession a little bit more! 😁

I have deep appreciation for this video. First of all I love your videos and all the content to begin with. Second, I have a tommy myself and lipomas. They can be quiet painful. Not withstanding these issues I always look for ways to be fashionable and put together. I feel so much when I put effort in my appearance. Thank you for your honesty and you brilliant style advice.

You look glorious in these trousers! I find it so hard to find trousers with a high enough waist/rise for the look, fit and style I’m going for.

I find very good vintage looking trousers in the men's section of thrift stores. I look for vintage wool suit trousers. I especially love the ones from the 80's because they often have a 40's look. It's also easier to find bigger sizes in the men's section.

This was wonderful. I really love skirts and dresses but there are occasions when trousers seem more practical. I'm inspired to give them a try. Thanks so much.

Thank you very much for such an interesting episode! I will be watching and listening to it for a week or more now, always re-watching all the new videos several times. What a great collection of trousers. I liked them all without exception. I only have one vintage high-waisted jeans. I would like to have a good collection of vintage trousers.
