As a Mossad agent, Avner Avraham discovered original documents, objects, passports and other original remnants in Mossad files that led him to document the inside story of the historic 1960 capture of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann.

Now he’s joined by Eli Rosenbaum, the longest-serving prosecutor of Nazi criminals and human rights violators in world history, who has worked on such cases at the US Department of Justice for more than 30 years. With NYU’s Thane Rosenbaum, hear the fascinating story of Israel’s capture and trial of Eichmann, which stunned the world and brought a taste of justice to a fledgling nation traumatized by the Holocaust, and learn from the master prosecutor Eli Rosenbaum about our own government’s role in bringing Nazis to justice.

Recorded December 4, 2017 at 92nd Street Y.

I'd have liked this more if the moderator had stopped interrupting and talking over his guests. What an annoying presumptuous man. Avner was very patient and gracious.

Program host was very enthusiastic, which I appreciate; but it would have been more effective and more polite to have allowed the panel to give their testimony

Host talks too much and didn't allow guests to speak. Kept interrupting, not a good host.

An important event for any number of reasons. Too bad the host kept interrupting the professionals. Very annoying.

This happens all the time. A moderator or an academic or both manages to make a fascinating subject enervating but his mere presence and delusions of relevance.

I STRONGLY AGREE that the host is the worst I also have ever seen---RUDELY interrupting the hero who brought the
Mossad operation to capture the eichman to light... My only regret of the horrendously, monstrous nazi legacy
was the inability to capture mengele & bring him to justice before his natural death...back to this host--- a grandstander with too big
of an ego to let the hero Mossad veteran tell his story

I was waiting on the Mossad operative to knock the moderator out with his pinky! Why were these experts even invited?!? This moderator knows it all. He is a 1 man show. Obviously, doesn't see how rude, disrespectful & idiotic he looks. Geez.

Could've been one of the best interviews if the host had a little bit of sense and a morsel of decency.

17:34 there is some confusion and incorrect information. What happened was Silvia H met Nick Eichmann a German film festival IN ARGENTINA. If this happened in 1957 she would have been 16 or 17 yrs old, depending on the month it happened in. Obviously she went to this German festival because her first language was likely German, given her father was originally German and the mother was Dutch.. they probably conversed in German at home. I am not sure why Avner gets this so confused.

In addition. - Eichmann could not change the names of his children to Klement as they came in to Argentina on their mother's PP and she came as Vera Eichmann (I am not sure what her status was when she came - that's to say she would hardly have said family reunification. If AE went to change the name this may have left a worse paper trail than if he left the names alone. Either that or it was simple laziness that the change was never made.

Sylvia H left Argentina for the US in late 59. This tends to indicate that the Israelis may have tipped LH off that a pinch was going to be made and it would be wise to get the daughter out of the country, as Nick E might guess that she had something to do with the capture. Thusly he and other nazis would come looking for her. I have reasons to believe that things did not work out for her in the US and she may have moved to Germany. Possibly somewhere quite close to the Dutch border so she could have contact with her mother's family.

Fritz Bauer was not a holocaust survivor in the normal sense of the word. He escaped to Sweden via Denmark and set up an anti Nazi publication with Willi Brandt - he spent most of th the war doing this and then went back to his state in W Germany post WWII .

AWFUL! Truly ruined documentary. I lost count at 537 "uh's / um's", but seriously, the Moderator/Host/ Talking Head needed to shut up. Dreadful. In fact go and re-edit this to 20 minutes.
