Moza R16 Long Term Review | 16Nm Direct Drive Force Feedback Sim Racing Steering Wheel

Moza's introduction to sim racing was less than ideal. Early reviews dismissed their best efforts. They seemed doomed, but have recovered incredibly well. I have had this wheelbase for 6 months and during that time it has improved immensely. Here is my long term review of the Moza R16 wheelbase and round steering wheel.

Great review Laurence 👌🏻 the outer styling was always in my view the biggest flaw withe the Moza, maybe a revision will see something a bit more industry standard.

Was going to place an order for the R21 last weekend but I've been chatting with a guy in the Moza discord who's had some problems with his R21 and is awaiting a replacement. Going to hang off till he gets his replacement and he confirms it was just a one off bad unit.

I know it doesn’t matter to some people but I can’t get past the looks of that whole package. It looks like what I imagine a Thrustmaster dd would look like. The other wheel base and wheels they make look great.

I know that aesthetics shouldn't matter too much, I just don't like the look of Moza's higher-end wheelbases. I have a R9 mostly because it was within my budget, but I actually like the look of it more than the R16 or R21. It's almost as if they are marketing things backwards. You would look at the R9 and think it was the more "hardcore" product. The R16 looks more like a toy than the R9 or even the R5.

I think this is one of those products that people will either love or hate, no inbetween. I think the styling is already enough for me to not buy this set. And that is only because of my personal opinion, which is a little small minded I'll have to admit. If I had the chance to try this one out, I would definitely do it tho!
Still a good thing that newer brands are entering the market, shaking things up a bit.

Man I live Moza I'm looking at getting a R12 R16 or R21 probably a R12 I'm just glad there are good reviews on these products my R5 is amazing

Did you have "notchiness" in the R16? Thinking about changing to an R16 since I will be stuck with the GS wheel. I recently bought the R9 and very disappointed. The notchiness is a bumpy feeling then at corners like grabbing and releasing then ultimately ruining a turn. Thinking about returning the product or having it checked for a defect or something. I have the GS wheel and not sure if I will be stuck not being able to return that if I get a refund on the R9.
