As the human population grows, deforestation grows, as more agricultural land is needed, to feed the population. The government could invest in women's education, and incentivize them to take out loans and start their own businesses. Women are more likely to delay having children or choose not to if they are educated and have a career or buisness to work on.

Hello Mr. Smedes, when you mentioned in lesson 3.7 that access to clean water and healthcare decrease the infant mortality rate (which decreases the population growth) and now in this video you mentioned that increased access to clean water and healthcare increase the population growth, I'm sort of confused. Can you explain more about this? Thanks!

A problem would be immigration, not to get political haha but immigration is a key factor to increasing population, and a solution proposed by the government would be laws/policy that take action on allowing immigrants for example they would need to take courses on citizenship, background checks that only allow clean backgrounds, etc.
