HIGH PROTEIN MASON JAR SOUPS

HIGH PROTEIN MASON JAR SOUPS
.
You can use thin noodles, or if you’re lowcarb, my lowcarb @kaizenfoodco Fusilli would be perfect here! My pasta has 20g protein and just 6 net carbs, but any thin pasta will work great for this!
.
You can prep these in advance to keep in the fridge, then just add hot broth, close the lid, and you can have delicious high protein, filling lunch (or snack) during the week without any additional prep!
.
Here is how to make them:
.
1.Grab 4 glass mason jars. Add 1 tbsp of miso paste, 1.5 tbsp Tamari or Soy Sauce, 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp fresh ginger to the bottom of the jar. These will add a ton of flavor.
.
2.Next, the protein! Add 3-4 oz of cooked chicken for your protein (you can use baked, roasted, or even rotisserie chicken). If you’d like, you can swap in shrimp or tofu, or steak, too.
.
3.Top it off with some veggies. I added thinly sliced red onion, Lots of fresh spinach, baby sprouts, thinly shredded carrot.
.
4.And finally, the pasta! To keep this super high protein + lowcarb, I used my Kaizen Lowcarb pasta (code SHREDHAPPENS always saves you 20%), but you can use any pasta. You want it to be a super thin shape, and my fusilli kaizen pasta cooks super quick. But you can use vermicelli or rice noodles in its place. I added about 2oz.
.
Then thats it for your prep! Close the lid, then pop them in the fridge to enjoy throughout the week.
.
5.When you’re ready to eat, boil up your favorite broth flavor of choice (I used a Ginger Turmeric chicken broth), fill the mason jar to the top, close the lid, and let the pasta cook for 7-10 minutes with the lid on.
.
Top with anything else you want (like sriracha, lime, fresh herbs), and enjoy!
