Rachael Rollins faces an Inspector General investigation. How serious is it?

Показать описание
Massachusetts Democrats couldn't have asked for a better week. The party recaptured the governorship, swept the statewide offices, maintained its dominance of the state legislature, and prevailed on two hotly contested ballot questions — leaving the Mass. GOP battered and irrelevant.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean the Democrats will have carte blanche moving forward.
In this episode of Talking Politics, Adam Reilly is joined by GBH News' Peter Kadzis and Axios' Steph Solis to discuss other factors that could act as a check on Democratic power, including the Mass. electorate's ambivalence on some key issues and Governor-elect Maura Healey's temperament and beliefs.
Later, Harvard Law School Professor Ronald Sullivan and GBH News' Phillip Martin join Reilly to examine the two investigations currently underway into U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins.
Rollins is being scrutinized by both the Department of Justice and the U.S. Office of Special Counsel for attending a Democratic National Committee fundraiser featuring First Lady Jill Biden earlier this year. Sullivan and Martin both contend that Rollins' actions were less problematic than those investigations might indicate, and that Rollins is being targeted for political reasons.
