I really feel for her. Saying that it is "in her mind" is like saying it is not real. That had to be very hard for her to take. I am sure she felt dismissed.

Two minutes in and I've never wanted to hug a stranger so bad. My goodness girl you have nothing to say sorry about.

The nice thing about Dr Pimple popper is that she explains why she’s reached her diagnosis and then provides some possible and doable solutions.

Her reaction to OCD is the reason we need continued public education about mental health conditions. People are really afraid of being seen as "crazy" and it could stop them from getting help. But i really appreciate Dr Pimple Popper for also giving physical help even for a mental problem. Sometimes that physical help is necessary.

Edit: I'm referring to her comments to the camera when she was alone, not when she was initially reacting.

Also, after reading some comments from other people, it seems they're missing the part where Dr Lee said she believes there is itching. All she said was that the *source* of the itching was likely mental. She even acknowledged the physical nodules and tried to help!

For anyone wondering. The girl in the video commented under one of the comments and said she will hopefully make a post about it. She said she isn’t OCD and the wraps Dr.Lee gave her didn’t work. She said she’s seeing a derm in Atlanta and her skin is finally clearing up after she got medication and cream to use!

When she began crying & kept saying "sorry, I'm sorry" over & over bc she was crying, I literally spoke out loud with tears in my eyes for her to not apologize bc you never have to apologize for when you need to cry.
My heart breaks for her bc I know what's she's going thru to an extent. And I hope that she can accept her diagnosis & realize that she's in control & let it empower her ❤️🙏💪

All I know is that I experienced the same thing without the raised bumps, but the dark spots & itchiness was there. Tried everything from unscented detergents, to creams, body washes, you name it-nothing helped/scratched all night long. Until... I left my now ex husband & his messy family. It took a few months after I moved out but the itching stopped, no new spots showed up & eventually, I had clear skin again. It's funny how they started showing up after my stress level maxed out & then started going away after I made up my mind & changed my environment. I guess the whole situation got under my skin. I pray you find relief my friend.

As someone with OCD and severe dermitiimania. The minute I saw the bumps they looked EXACTLY like the ones I scratch and pick at. I hope she knows it's not a bad things it's treatable through therapy and change of behavior and luckily it's not a deadly skin condition. So glad she was able to realize it's a mental problem and maybe get some help for it.

I’m glad she’s actually seen doctors about this, repeatedly. I hope she can get rid of this problem, permanently, she seems like a lovely lady. ❤️

To all my dermatillomania comrades, I applaud you for being you! It’s hard to live with a skin picking disorder that changes the way people see and and how you see yourself but regardless of the scars we are all beautiful inside and out ♥️

What made this story sadder was hearing her constantly apologizing during her interview. Baby, girl, you’ve done nothing wrong. Do not apologize, love.🥰

We need an update to see how she's doing

as someone with trichotillomania who thought i was spontaneously balding, i know how this feels. to be told "it's all in your mind" feels so dismissive at first and you're in so much disbelief, then you have more people like therapists and such talking to you about it and the pieces begin to come together. i hate this pain so much and i'm so insanely sorry for her.

Regardless of the bumps, she is still a very beautiful woman and anyone would be lucky to look the way she does. She's super connected heartily and humble. She had nothing to be ashamed of whatsoever, very admirable human😁 but, I'm also very glad she got help for her.

I struggled with the same issue, especially when my anxiety was sky high. I used to pick at my scalp, legs, and face. It doesn't mean her condition is invalid, it's just a different cause than she thought. I hope she's able to get help and heal, she seems like a wonderful girl who deserves relief.

The title of this video feels exploitative. Physical and mental health are so strongly intertwined, and a physical condition that is brought on by a mental condition is no less valid than a condition without any known mental triggers. TLC, please stop creating content on peoples' livelihoods until you can begin to grant each individual who appears on this show the respect they are due.

This video is so personal to me cause it’s literally what I went through during my teenage years, same diagnosis, same exact thing she’s experiencing, nothing was helping, depressed, all of it. I finally stopped scratching and picking it definitely was not easy but I got through it. I’m 25 now and my skin is much better the marks do fade away

As someone who has lived with OCD and Dermotillomania my entire life, I hope she is able to get the care (if that is what it is!) she needs. I'm glad they are able to treat the spots

To Natalie, my wife had the same condition and her dermatologist prescribed a medication called Dupixent. She is doing very well, no more itching or bumps!!!
