Honestly how I look at money is you'll make more if you're successful in your main job/career. If you get extra income, you can do a better management of it such as real estate or stock investing. Dividend stocks are great way to grow your asset. And don't spend money on dumb stuff like expensive car while you don't even have your own house.

I agree at 99% with the idea of putting all the effort to become the master at 1 thing, but I'd also like to say that billionaires simply can pay other people to manage other income streams. How those streams start depends on the nature of the investment. They could be funds, real estate, stocks, businesses that have synergies with the main one, etc... the point is that a person can't micromanage everything and shouldn't either. Having people working for you is what allows multiple streams: everyone of them is focusing on one thing, it's just that you take the profits.
