Chef Ramsey always surprises me. Every time he does I love him more and more as a chef.
I worked in kitchens and the culinary industry for 15 years. I have fond memories of many of the chefs I worked under. Many of them as critical and savage as Chef Ramsey can come across at times. Then at times they show you a different side. Much like Chef Ramsey did in this clip. A softer side. A much more gentler side and yet you feel the pride in them. What I learned from my few years I spent working under such men. They are critical of you because they know you can do better. They are hard on you because they know you can ride through the pressure. Because I have seen them and how they react to someone in which they see no potential. They usually pay then no attention and then let them go after a few weeks if nothing changes. They push the ones they believe can give them more. Then they swell with pride for the ones that persevere through the trial by fire. Makes me miss cooking professionally.
