Update : I just ran Stynylrez through 0.5 needle at 28 PSI with NO thinner and it sprayed perfectly. I also ran SMS Premium Acrylic Lacquer through with NO thinner and it sprayed perfectly. The only other paint I use is Tamiya XF Acrylic Paint and this I thin with X-20a thinner @ 30 paint /70 thinner and have no problems. Thank you to everyone suggestions for solving my problem.

I had this problem last week twice, first tamiya mettalic then a Vallejo primer, they had gone clumpy in the pots even with thoroughly mixing them, tried a fresh bottle and worked perfectly

I would definitely not use Vallejo thinners with Stynylrez. I would recommend something like Mr. Color Leveling Thinners. There are lots of videos on YouTube about the best thinners for each kind of paint. Stynylrez thickens with age. I would thin it, even if it is a new bottle. Over time it will require more thinners to make it sprayable. Do you have a water trap on your air line. Dry air is really important. I hope this helps a little bit. See you next time.

I have the same brush, its had a bashing, accidentally put enamel paint through it with acrylic thinners, it completely blocked every hole, after cleaning everything , , like you stlll had a problem, found a thin film of lacquer on the needle, it would work for a while but bingo no paint, or maybe your compressor is cutting out to soon, needle I also polish it with toothpaste, takes 15min but make a big difference, hope it helps

if you have one of those tiny little nozzles that come off with a tiny spanner they tend to get partially blocked quite often. there is a little tool like a screwdriver but pointed and with one flat edge especially made for the job it cost about 8 euros i'm not sure what that is in dollars or pounds but under twelve. it's a really great tool and lasts forever .I also find sometimes putting your compersser up to double it's strenght and giving short bursts with isopropyl alcahol can clear up almost anything on the airbrush. if not the surest way of solving the problem is to strip the airbrush down and leave the nozzle parts in alcahol for about half an hour and clean the thoroughly. Oh yes take off the o rings first as many airbrushes don't have solvent proof o rings, that can also cause flow problems.

your paint is probably drying on the needle. I find using a flow improver helps for me.

I would say it is clogging. I have had this with Stynylrez. I found some small particles of semi dried paint. Looking in the bottle I noticed some gloopy paint around the top of the bottle. Have you tried with other paint you have?
I should say I'm not knocking Stynylrez as it is great primer. I put my problem down to not making sure the cap is closed properly allowing the paint to dry around the dispensing nozzle.

You may have something down the barrel that’s stuck hard on the inner surface and as you spray, part of it drops and obstructs your paint flow. I’ve had this happen and it can be the tiniest dried on patch. I actually used Windex to thin my paint and clean my airbrush and it works beautifully. Also lubricating your needle keeps the back and forth motion smoother when you trigger back and forth to open up to let the paint flow. Maybe also thin down your paint more and shake it up more.

Dont thin Stynylrez. It sprays nicely with 0.3 nozzle without thinning. If it sprays water as it should, then problem is in paint/primer. What nozzle size youre using?

Have you lubricated your needle after cleaning?

Hi I won't say I've got the answer to your problems just a couple of suggestions.
1. If you watch Nigel's modelling bench he recommends thinning paint for the airbrush by at least 50% and possibly as high as 70%.
2. Don't use Vallejo in your airbrush it has a reputation for clogging.
3. Don't mix Vellejo products with other products, I know if you use Tamiya x20 thinners the paint will end up like cottage cheese.
Hope this is of some help and best wishes Vic
