Someone once said the drainage system is the conscience of a city.

The rain will go away but the drama and stupidity that is Toronto remains relentless. 😅

Olivia Chow: “I was too busy spending $600k on renaming Dundas Square to invest in anything important like the antiquated, rotting infrastructure of Toronto”.

I live downtown and thankfully work from home. I knew it was raining but I had no idea it was this bad. Fortunately we never lost power!!
I also had one client cancel a visit because she was still stuck in the floods...

Floods every year and they still can't figure it out.

Who took the money for the maintenance and upgrade of Toronto's infrastructure?

1:00 I know I am finding humour in the wrong place, but there is just something too funny about how grumpy those BMW's look while submerged! 😅😂🤣

What a leader!! Chow Toronto... nice knowing you.

The streets are pretty much built to flood here in this city lol. Lots of depressions in the road where literal pools form in softer rains.

You're so right, Heather Wright..This rain event was reminiscent of July 8, 2013.

There was widespread flooding and power outages in Toronto.; roads became rivers. Much like that event, the Bloor-Islington area was the last to get its power back on after 36 hours. In both events, it was a Wednesday when power returned to Bloor-Islington.

All money paid for refugees hotels and toronto has only old infrastructure from last century with half population. And no one admits it s gonna be worse.

Always believed eliminating tributaries to the lake would eventually be problematic.

I am surprised that she didn't ask for extra funding from the provincial or federal government...

i'm thinking therre used to be a creek there instead of a highway. Maybe we should have let it serve its purpose???

Who would of thought having so little grassy areas in a huge city and horrible drainage systems could cause this 😂

It’s because of Toronto’s terrible sewer system. I’ve been saying it for decades. The rain water and the sewage water have to be separated. Toronto has a history of filling in creeks. The garrison creek is one very important one
