BIG CAT SIGHTING @ Batemans Bay, NSW || PantherPeople

This quick clip was taken near Batemans Bay, NSW of a suspected melanistic big cat. The witness had seen the cat in the middle of the field, prior to turning around to try and capture the animal on camera. The interesting thing about where this cat was filmed, is that it appeared to be watching a young family playing in their yard from in the next paddock. This in itself is alarming, as these animals are starting to appear closer & closer to urban areas.

As with most cases the footage is shaky, blurry and grainy, but understandably so as these sightings are over in the blink of an eye. Although it is very hard to tell what animal it is, you can clearly see the size of the animal by using the windmill and the tree in the background as a scale guide.

Inconclusive at best, but credit to the witness for having the presence of mind to not only turn around for a second look, but also grab out his phone and attempt to get footage of the mystery animal.

Very easily just another example of how big ex domestic cats are getting via breeding/natural selection of the strongest.
I wouldn't be calling that even close to Panther size, fwiw, but these cats are not to be underestimated, domestic moggies have an amazing amount of strength and they would hardly be getting the daily workout that these things are getting.
They certainly explain why our bush is so much quieter now than what it was 40 years ago.

Last one seen at Benandarah was less than seven years ago. It had taken a Red Flyer wallaby on private property, and was disturbed.

These are not panthers. These are enormous feral cats. Ive shot and killed one near braidwood. I will say people reporting these sightings most definitely are not crazy. From a distance thats sure as hell what i thought it was. Looking close up was a domestic cats face without a doubt. This was a bit larger than a large doberman. These exist through natural selection, they hunt at night which is why they are all black. The most abundant prey in Australia is a kangaroo, these are evolving to hunt it.
