I live in a house full of women. Wonderful daughters, Wonderful wife. I hear lots of complaints about the societal expectations on women. Sometimes it's, "you dont understand how difficult it is for women in society". I have to frequently remind them that those "expectations" they feel are a range of self-imposed, imaginary, or resulting only from trying to match or compete with social media and with other women. Men dont want any of it and view it all as a negative.

If men were actually running things and had that power, we would simply shut it all down. We don't want anything to do with it, but somehow keep getting blamed for these "societal expectations" that are 100% created and maintained, or self-imposed by women.

Duck lips is a "Kick her out of a moving car" type of red flag.

I would never have believed that the proudest knight of all who protects men these days would be a woman.. Love that.

Pet names don't bother me reserving certain ones for private, of course. But the other two I absolutely agree on.

Woman here and I agree!
1- Pet names in public- there's a time and place and context. Something like babe, honey, or somethin' along those lines is fine. A pet name spawned from an intimate or embarassin' moment, or somethin' that's just an inside joke between us- no. Never. That's between us only.

2- Duck lips. I think they look stupid and I have never understood them.

3- Baby talk. I don't even baby talk my animals. I don't even like hearing other people baby talk their animals. For lack of a better word, it's cringe to me.

I thought she was going to say something along the lines of : 1- long acrylic nails that are impractical. (And can poke your eye out.) 2- too much touchy feely in public. Like, stuff that's on the verge of unacceptable. And 3- "does this make me look fat?"

As a man, I agree, though the worse is making a fuss in public...if you wanna argue, let's argue where not everyone will hear everything🙄

I don't totally agree on the pet names one. The common ones like sweetie, honey, etc. are fine for in public, but if it's a private pet name save it for when we're alone.

Baby talk is fine sometimes.
Pet names in public depending on time and/or place.
Duck lips is a hard no. 😂

Duck lips: I am convinced the same psychology that drives women into anorexia, is the same psych. that drives women into duck lips - to their own detriment.
I passed "one case" in the airport recently and my heart just ached.

Especially, especially the baby talk! It’s just downright creepy to do that to an adult!

When men say it, we aren't heard. Emily saying it, maybe NOW it will be heard.

I liked pet names and "baby talk" assuming that means what I think it does and not something else. We were free to enjoy eachother in all our wierdness. What I didn't like was the lying telling me i was perfect while slowly beginning to resent me and the cheating culminating in walking out suddenly
